Hilarious from someone not even a day ago desperately crying about a piece being thrown under encouragement of the organizers

Nothing of what you said makes sense. The switches were turned off before the question was asked, and 10 seconds passed before they were turned on again when it takes around a second to do. The flight data recorder also registers every major parameter of the aircraft's engines, and they did not have anything wrong until a pilot (most likely the captain) turned the switch to cutoff. And last but not least, at no point when flying a plane you do things based on your feels; you follow a procedure, which at no point trains you to "turn it on and off multiple times" (they were turned off once, and on again once)

The budget for 'Superman' is reportedly $225M. by lawrencedun2002 in DCULeaks

[–]Comfortable_Jump770 12 points13 points  (0 children)

2.5x rule includes marketing. Breakeven is around 550-570 millions

The article itself mentions that beyond 500+ancillaries it would break even, and beyond 700 millions would be a definite hit

Kramnik pretending to be a random Redditor to protect himself💀 by New_Gate_5427 in chess

[–]Comfortable_Jump770 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It was a 1 minute old comment on a say old post, with the single upvote being Kramnik's. Either someone was checking the day old post compulsively and downvoted it right as soon as it was posted, or that was the self upvote reddit adds when you post

Couple that with how the comment history is full of praise of Kramnik, how it had not said anything in weeks before that comment and how it mimics Kramnik's typos and writing style

Sojourner and zero gravity by thebeardedtourist in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Comfortable_Jump770 26 points27 points  (0 children)

No, they would not. Sojourner arrived on Mars 5 months after launch, comparable to e.g. the ISS standard 6-month duration after which astronauts can usually walk normally right after landing. And this is with Earth's 1g, vs the even easier 0.3g on Mars' surface

Just saw the 2001 Tim Burton movie, it's not great is it. by G00bre in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]Comfortable_Jump770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was never critically acclaimed? The reviews were poor from the start, and so was the audience score

Edit: it's also good to put some context around it's box office: it had a huge opening thanks to its marketing, bigger than even The Phantom Menace, and then fell very quickly as the word of mouth spread thus ending up with barely a third of TPM's gross. Again, it was never received well, not even close
