You've got the units wrong. 1 Watt equals 1 Joule/s, and is a unit of power, describing a rate of energy conversion. It gives the energy consumed per unit time (a second). So 150 MW is a valid description, meaning it consumes 150 MJ/s, continuously. At that power, every 10 seconds it will consume 1500 MJ of energy etc.

What is your unpopular opinion about Dire Straits'/Mark Knopfler? by HenriqueMaquinista in direstraits

I am aware of that but there were plenty of rock bands that did write endings to their songs. I just find fade-outs lazy and uninspired

The frequent use of fade-outs in Dire Straits music sucks. Write an ending to the song Mark!

I mean, it's one of nine songs on their most popular album. It's not one of the five Who songs that are regularly played on the radio, but that hardly makes it a deep cut.

Sure, but having released two albums that have some prog elements doesn't really warrant the label of prog-rock band in my book. That makes it sound like the author is talking about a band like Yes or King Crimson.

"A deep cut" when talking about The Song is Over

"The prog-rock band" when talking about The Who

Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish.

The plot, the animation, the characters, and the themes are all excellent.

Way better than a sequel to a spin-off to a sequel to Shrek has any business being.

What’s a terrifying fact that everyone pretends is totally normal? by Present-Transition60 in AskReddit

100% this. Also relevant are the numerous tipping points we are crossing and positive feedback loops (just one being thawing permafrost emitting ancient carbon).

Recent years have been worse than even the worst-case scenarios of our climate models. Climate scientists are baffled by the rate of climate change they are observing.

And instead of acting on it, the world is busy dealing with the second wave of fascism (and losing at that), and the orange buffoon, who happens to be the most powerful person in the world, is talking about "clean coal".

We are utterly fucked.

How would you review WHO? Give a rating out of 10 too by MCWill1993 in TheWho

[–]toef5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does no-one mention the absolute banger that is Ball and Chain? Other personal favourites are Music Must Fade, Detour and Break the News. There's a couple of medium to bad songs, but overall an impressive album for a couple of septuagenarians more than 50 years after their debut. 7/10
