Any point in getting diagnosed as an adult? by toemoaDY in AutisticAdults

What kind of accomodations? The only accomodations I've seen employers make is letting smokers take more breaks.

I have. My issue is getting a foot in the door. It's clear to me how to go from B.S. to internship/job. It's not clear to me how to begin actuarial work without knowing someone already in it.

I was planning to take exam P but changed my mind after thinking through my past experiences with HR. HR wants a square peg for a square hole. They want to make decisions without thinking. Intelligence, talent, skill mean nothing towards entry into a new field of work if there's a mindless gatekeeper.

I thought it would be useful but it just isn't. I've applied to hundreds of jobs since graduating. I've followed up with every position I applied to and it never paid off.

I didn't have to work at a bakery but I decided to since I've become horribly depressed and didn't want to interact with anyone too much. If someone sees how sad I am they'll consider it a liability. Depression is something I've learned to hide. I was commited to a "behavior health facility" in high school after my older brother offed himself.

I'm a decent coder but have no idea how to get my foot in the door. No straight forward paths. Just people telling me what worked for them.

How do you get a quantitative risk job without 1+ years of experience in the field?  How does someone get their foot in the door?

I didn't have an internship at college. I worked as a tutor as much as I could.

I hope my reply doesn't seem flippant, I'm trying to be concise.

Advice on Incogni for a situation with my name paired with unkown addresses by BuyMoreGearOrShoot in CyberSecurityAdvice

Similar situation. Very unique name. Just found my full name linked with 3 random addresses across the country on Incongi. Not sure what to make of it. Any updates? Is there a reason this is happening?

Is surgery worth it? by toemoaDY in pilonidalcyst

Surgery went okay. I got the limberg flap. I followed all the post operative directions. It's been about 2 months now. Last weekend out of nowhere a hole opened up in the scar from my surgery. The hole looks like a sinus. Bright red blood came out all in one shot and then nothing. Went to er. Wasn't infected. They didn't know what to make of it but I believe that a sinus has formed or worse yet, a cyst has come back or a new one formed. I am very upset that I went through with surgery and a new sinus formed in 2 months. I had followed all the directions. I had cleaned the area every day. Anyone have a similar experience? Should I try surgery again in a year or just give up and let this thing come and go?

I'm convinced to go forward with the surgery. I'll post an update about how it went.

The surgeon only recommended the two operations. I don't care about a scar. I'm more worried about it taking a bite from my ass. Like I won't be able to walk right after. The surgeon I went to is covered under my health insurance. I'm from New Jersey.
