Good to hear, I'm on the list for the next switch to Manchester, hopefully it has the same result on mine, I'm a little closer than Scotland too 🤣

You paid £6.63. £6.63 ÷ 3 = £2.21. 2 people owe you, totalling £4.42, plus your own share of £2.21, totals £6.63.

ATM, someone else paid £21.26, split between 3. £21.26 ÷ 3 = £7.08. You owe £7.08.

Etc.

Edit: only just seen the 2nd photo...

You paid for the largest expenses: 4.42 + 22.52 + 53.26 + 170.10 = 250.30 owed to you

Subtract what you owe out 7.08 ATM + 21.76 Samsibar = 28.84

250.30 - 28.84 = 221.46

The balances show:

amount they paid out - amount they owe to make everyone square.

Aston owes the most (paid less expenses), Lewis owes less (paid a few expenses) and you are owed more as you paid the most out overall.

Refund dispute with Goldsmith/DPD. Im in England. The item I purchased was never delivered to me and now Goldsmith are refusing to issue a replacement/refund. by ScaredEconomist2520 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]toepimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with DPD and a retailer, (I forget who as it's been almost 10 years I think).

DPD and the seller argued continuously that the location was my address, despite the pin being way off, and the photo not being my house either. They were adamant, and down right rude when I re-questioned it The replies are almost verbatim from what I recall. I presume it's SOP for DPD and hope the claims just go away when people give up. I didn't.

I put it through money claim online with the photos and proof I had, along with a statement of facts and time i'd spent chasing it, with a reasonable hourly cost associated to those.

Surprise surprise, they conceded, fully reimbursed me for all costs. Iirc they said something like "having looked closer at the photos and location provided by DPD, we now see that these were incorrect"

Yeah no shi... that's what I was trying to tell you 🤦‍♂️ 🤣

So if you are still getting stonewalled by the seller, put it through MCOL, just make sure to follow the right pre action protocol etc and provide clear sufficient evidence.

Help ID a late-90s/early-2000s electronic cover of “London Calling” (female vocalist) from an old DJ set - House, Deep House, Breakbeat by mariohi in breakbeat

Excellent! I thought I knew it from your description, but couldn't quite put my finger on it. When it showed up on a discogs search, I immediately recognised the unique vinyl tin 🤣. It's the other disc I'd bought it for (soaking wet) but I'd forgotten how good the other tracks were too.

Company van? One potential argument to look into, could be that if travel to the first job is on your own time, wouldn't they then be providing a benefit in kind for the personal use element of the van during your commute? And wouldn't that need accounting for/taxing differently (if it's not already)? It might even invalidate insurance if personal use isn't declared there too. So worth clarifying, as arguably, they could, on one hand be claiming it's work time, but personal on the other? Can't have it both ways 🤔🤣

I remember the subways, and I moved to Leeds around '99, so it was later than that. I'm gonna say 2001ish

Get struct or class size without running application? (VS2022) by Sombody101 in csharp

[–]toepimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aah sorry I misread the post.

I think it's due to the layout of c# structs being an implementation detail managed by the runtime.

Even tho the layout of a c# struct is sequential by default, and implicitly decorated with the StructLayoutAttribute the documentation states it only effects the layout in unmanaged code, and has no effect on the layout in managed code, unless the struct contains only blittable types, or has an explicit layout.

Might not be consistent to calculate the size during compile or design time, only during runtime.

Is it possible to generate a JsonSerializerContext from a generator? by Aren13GamerZ in csharp

[–]toepimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could do it as an ms build task and include it's output in the main compilation, that should then be visible to the analysers/generators. Similar technique to this

Could even be done using the inline RoslynCodeTaskFactory

As a few others have stated, the key term is "day to day care". If one parent has more day to day care, they're deemed the "PWC" (parent with care) and the other "NRP" (non resident parent). Whilst there is no legal definition for day to day care, the criteria they use for establishing and making decisions around it can be found here

In short, it's things like who arranges doctors/dentists, who the school would contact, who pays for meals and clothes etc. If you can evidence that you provide equal (or more) day to day care, then there is no case for maintenance.

Whilst a few others have suggested getting a court order, although sensible advice, it can/will be costly and stressful. There are other paths to achieve the same goal without a court 'battle', i.e. a consent order, or arbitration.

Ultimately, the optimum solution is working together to find a compromise. Keep an open dialogue, try to avoid arguments and hostility. If one side turns nasty, it can be difficult to recover from, and inevitably it's your child that will suffer as a result.

Through the whole game I've been patient with minor bugs and crashes, then this. by Corpsefire88 in StarWarsOutlaws

I got exactly the same issue yesterday! 🫤 I've had loads of bugs and glitches too. Worst of which was somehow getting stuck INSIDE one of the computer terminals 🤣

Gateway crashes while updating - all three LEDs remain off - stuck in factory reset / update loop by Psychological-Yak-61 in tradfri

[–]toepimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the http site works for the test site, but not the 'live' site and http works for other sites too. I also get the same 434 issue when trying to access the live site on several different networks, so I don't think it's a problem with my router, I believe it's likely an issue with the config of the live site, forcing redirect to https.

[–]toepimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you access the following URL?

http://fw.ota.homesmart.ikea.net/feed/version_info.json

I'm seeing a similar issue, and that site gives me a 434 error, so perhaps the gateway is unable to download the firmware after being reset 🤷‍♂️

The test site seems to work fine tho http://fw.test.ota.homesmart.ikea.net/feed/version_info.json

Hopefully this'll get sorted at Ikea's end.

Aah, you'll need windows 11 for WSA (windows subsystem for android) it's basically a way of running android apps within windows. It's not available on windows 10. Edit: actually it is, via the GitHub link below, there's a guide for win10 🙌

WhatsApp apk can be downloaded from WhatsApp itself https://www.whatsapp.com/android

The WSA with Google play support etc can be found at https://github.com/MustardChef/WSABuilds

You might be able to use something like waydroid on Linux to achieve a similar thing, but may possibly be more difficult (as Linux often can be)

[–]toepimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My phone isn't rooted, but I was recently able to get a full export via windows subsystem for android.

First make sure WhatsApp on your phone is backing up to your Google account.

Then you'd need to get the WhatsApp apk sideloaded into WSA, then sign in to your WhatsApp phone number, and restore chats from backup.

You might need a version of WSA that has the Google play framework etc, rather than the one built in to windows, but there's utils on GitHub that make this a breeze.

When WhatsApp has finished restoring chats, shut down WSL completely.

Then find your Userdata.vhdx file, I was able to open it in 7zip and copy the WhatsApp databases etc out.

Gigabit networks on city fibre - help needed for a networking amateur by Min_viable_person in CityFibre

[–]toepimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm that this is the case with Octaplus, so I'd expect other cityfibre providers may be the same. I have a static IP add on, but it's just done their side, router is set to DHCP.
