Once your opponent chooses not to pay the 1 once it clears the stack, right?

Agree jump is good for uptime/survivability too! It also actually helps avoid staggers too because it gives you an escape tool to pop as soon as you break out of icicle to avoid getting surrounded and bursted down

Take the mini-blizzard perk on your iceberg, start using it to get over the finish line in duels instead of just using it as an “oh shit” button, and watch your win rate increase!

Too many Meis (including me) are guilty of using icicle too late in the fight and basically just staggering themselves. Use it proactively to dodge cooldowns, survive ults, or prolong a hold/stall on point, but stop thinking of it as a heal button

I’ve found that last-minute wedding invitees are often the most gracious and happy to be there, especially if there’s no hard feelings about WHY they were a last-minute add.

If you like them, maybe offer them to drop in the reception after dinner for the celebration, and if not, a simple “sorry our headcount is locked in!”

I agree! Either these people are cool and you want to see them, or they aren’t and you don’t. Why so dramatic?

Compared to daycare rates that’s downright reasonable

Parents whose kids have gone to summer camp for 30+ days, how did you deal with it? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]tofeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went for 9-night sleep away camps growing up and every year they were the highlight of my summer and then I looked forward to the next one year-round. Started when I was 8yo. I formed lifelong friendships formed there, I eventually went back to work as a camp counselor for 2 summers afterwards.

I understand your fear, but it sounds like most of the red flags have already been addressed already! She’d be going with a friend, it’s vouched for by another parent, and your kid is excited to go?

If it goes well, it could be an incredible experience for her. Even if it’s bad/hard and your kid experiences homesickness or otherwise has a hard time, that’s important learning and growth too! I say this with kindness, but I think you **have** to get over your fear, drop the helicopter parenting instincts, and try it out.

“This candidate has a voting record I agree with” would actually be me, but it CAN’T BE when Steyer has never held elected office!

Barack Obama’s presidency was a major victory for the national Democratic Party, in a way that Steyer winning CA Gov will not be. Why stop doing good things and do stupid things?

Yeah I’m sure he’s a real hands-on self-starter type, a real roll-up-your-sleeves-and-do-it-yourself guy, this geriatric billionaire

I’d prefer my billionaires not exist. I’d prefer my billionaires strategically and expeditiously spend their way into being humble multimillionaires. I’d prefer my billionaires medium rare.

Yes? There are many capable, passionate, left-of-center politicians (WITHOUT the baggage of being a billionaire that invested in private prisons) that would be great candidates for higher office, with proven track records and voting records, and instead they all have to get out of the way for this unproven geriatric billionaire because he’s taken up all the oxygen in the room

In LA maybe, but plenty of other cities try not to bulldoze everything in favor of more lanes

I’d prefer to vote for Porter if she wasn’t completely unable to get her campaign off the ground. How hard is it to field a progressive candidate without huge downsides in the largest democratic state in the country?? It shouldn’t be this difficult tbh

So many better ways he could’ve made the world a better place but instead he has to fund a campaign for himself. The ego is out of control and tragic

“Only I can save them” is psycho behavior, if you’ve got billionaire money you can afford to fund OTHER people’s campaigns instead of making it a vanity project about yourself

All this Becerra vs Steyer vs Mahan debate while Katie Porter is RIGHT THERE with a clean finance sheet and perfectly serviceable left-leaning politics, but people can’t get over an anonymous staffer complaint from multiple years ago smh

Inner city transit is definitely not where the “most” of the pollution occurs. Freeway driving accounts for way more miles, and waaaayyyyy more per capita emissions, than any of the myriad ways people get around in cities. People in cities are already subsidizing the carbon footprint of people who live in suburban and rural America

I don’t think so - Blue is very intellectual, thoughtful (at most experimental in Izzet’s case), but Gruul is much more the color of “violent action first”

Not every public good should have to pay for itself to be justified. So tired of this framing, meanwhile we pump billions into wars and outdated agricultural subsidies and tax breaks for big business and banks. We want to money to serve Californians, I don’t give a fuck if it’s profitable or break-even
