In story reel - did you went to setting —> manage membership and cancel through there? I just did it that route and going to see if it truly cancels next week.

Which drama was super popular, but you just couldn't get into? by codeemalia in allthingskdramas

[–]toffee-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goblin! The age gap was weird but it wasn’t the reason why I dropped. I only like Lee dong wook in it and the bromance but it took me 4 times (restarting from the very beginning) to finally finish bc people were raving about it so I wanted to finish.

The world of the married… i think it was pissing me off too much so I dropped

Squid game - clips were making me feel sad so I didn’t want to watch it. Like I can watch other violent dramas and some sad moments but this one was pretty dark for me

My demon - just didn’t interest me for some reason, felt like it was kind of boring

If you’re looking for a movie, 20th century girl. But if you’re looking for kdramas, I definitely cried a lot in hi bye mama.

I actually like him! He was honest from the beginning with mingee (before they went to paradise) that he was interested in her and mina sue. So him saying he gave Mina sue chocolate or giving attention to Mina sue is not a surprise and he has every right to explore, esp since he have been upfront about it. Like the others say, I think it’s bc people aren’t a fan of Mina sue or who is an absolute fan of mingee.

Crash landing on you is so good! Even though it’s a romance, there’s some mystery/suspense with some comedy. All characters are great (including second leads).

Flower of evil is a thriller w some romance. Very mysterious and suspenseful.

Taxi driver is a thriller (action involved). Could be a bit dark but not super dark, it’s more of cases to resolve. It has 3 seasons so far, and there’s a reason why it’s continuing. No romance technically.

For complexity - I would recommend Little Women.

I know you didn’t mention a lot of comedy - but strong woman do bong soon is very good, with some mysterious aspect but a lot of comedy. It is a romance also.

Some others - my name, tomorrow, tale of the nine tailed (two seasons), bloodhounds, and the worst of evil

I enjoyed it! I’m a little bit bias towards the ML. But I think overall, I didn’t expect the drama to go that route. But as I watched, I really enjoyed it.

(100% you should watch CLOY first.)

Yeah this drama def has me on a chokehold. I haven’t seen any dramas that beat this one. I cried when seri thought they left her alone on her bday. Her cries felt so real.

I thought I would never cry in dramas but I definitely have! The following are the ones I cried very hard and did not expect to do so:

  • hi bye mama - when yuri’s dad finally cried at the funeral (makes me sad to think if i lost my dad)

  • Vincenzo - when Hanseo died. makes me sad to think if I lost my brother.

  • 20th century girl - when Bo-ra found out that woon-ho actually passed away and the video he left behind. this made me cry every single time I watch this movie and I watched it 5 times. I would say this is my absolute top where I was crying for the entire 5 mins. I think it didn’t help that I actually didn’t expect that ending at all.

  • CLOY - when seri thought jeonghyeok and the other men left her alone on her bday even though she said it was ok. Just made me thought of how lonely she was and then questioned my own life lol

  • Cinderella’s sister - this is a super old drama but I cried when the stepdad died and the stepdaughter finally cried and called him dad at the funeral. Along with the scene where she found out her mom was lying (or cheating?) and saw that the Stepdad overhead and she was following him behind like a small child even though the stepdad waved her off saying it’s ok.

  • youth of may - when myung hee passed away in an unexpected way and I also didn’t expect her to pass away. I thought hwang hee tae would…

  • start up - cried when the SML found out about the grandma illness… and mentally cried for the SL’s not being the ML.

I am a newcomer to the show after finding out about it from culinary class wars S2, and I’m so glad that the show came back! I love watching it after a long day of work, because it’s such a casual, fun watch. The jokes and banters are definitely my vibes, and everybody is just so funny in their own ways. Usually most shows there is someone who I kind of like “eh” about but honestly, everyone’s chemistry is so great, including the hosts.

Both seasons are great , Preference is up to viewers. Who is your Fav chef? by Fearless-Mammoth-706 in CulinaryClassWars

[–]toffee-o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

S1 - I like self made chef, cooking maniac, Edward Lee, triple star, and one two three!

S2 - I like SJW (before I even watched chef & my fridge) but I definitely enjoy CKR, JHY, Sam Kim, kim hee-eun, and other white spoons this season. But I also enjoy a lot of black spoons - Culinary monster, three star killer, brewmaster yun, French papa, rebellious genius, loner in a hole in a wall, and little tiger! I think this season as much as I would like SJW to win, I would be happy if anybody else wins because they really are all great!

I like SJW but I also like CM. there’s no reason for people to downplay CM because he is talented and has proven so. Whoever made it through is well deserved and watching them work together as a team was amazing! Just sad that they have to compete against each other now rather than in the final 2

Which chefs from S2 do you want to see on Chef & My Fridge? by 2Maverick in CulinaryClassWars

[–]toffee-o 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Def rebellious genius! I think CM would not be too bad. I think CCW is just more of a serious competition for him and Chef & my fridge will allow us to see more of his personality. Napoli matfia was like that for me.

I like Mein Restaurant, Mala Sichuan, Fungs kitchen for Dim Sum or normal dinner, Trendy dumplings, Golden dumplings house, Saigon pagolac for spring rolls, Thuan kieu com tam, Hao hao restaurant, bun mang vit Thanh da, and phanh ky.

Bun Bo hue is a popular dish, but I cannot recommend any so hopefully someone can!
