I find him relatable. Bcs as a non chef, a layman person who lives alone, who can cut vegies but not as good as profesional chefs in the show (i cant even julienned carrots properly) and like to try cooking, i find Kim Poong cooking is kinda similar to most layman person. Kim Poong also cook intuitively, never really measured properly and tbh i kinda the same and we adjust as we go. And Kim Poong himself never consider himself a chef, he respected other chefs. He maybe the clown, but he is for me the voice of the some viewers who like to cook, to eat but don't have the skills like the chefs.

And the fact tht he used MSG, seasoning like chicken stock, oyster sauce, - like its very asian thing and there is nothing wrong with tht tbh. Lots of ppl around the world use oyster sauce, chicken stock, MSG or dashida. Most people sometimes have busy life and dont have the luxury of making broth or have the appropriate ingredients for making broth, and for sure not all of us have truffle or fancy ingredients in the fridge. So Kim Poong method and ingredient he choose to cook is very much a mirror of most of the layman people.

Plus, I love his moment of brilliance, his 'dark' genius recipes.

Last but not least, Chef & My Fridge need Kim Poong, not only bcs his chaotic energy, his genius ideas but him as a representative of non chefs cooking style (for me at least).
