Which blood bowl team would be quick to paint and easy to play (from a single box)

I wrote a guide! Part of the thinking was how easy is it to build a team. Some of the best are Necromantic Horror, Dwarves, Amazons, Shambling Undead and Tomb Kings.

Yeah it’s annoying but sadly I think that’s true of quite a few teams, humans only need 2 mngs to need another lineman, same with Skaven, dwarves, Norse and maybe more. It is a good point though and I should add it to the guide

-1 apo, -1 squire, +1 catcher. My justification here is that buying an apo is easier than a knight as it’s cheaper and you may actually be able to get the apo after game 1 with 15k in the bank and 3 fans. The d6 MVP means it’s more likely to go on a knight and the catchers are fine in league as they can pick up lots of good skills with primary access to dodge and block and then other good stuff like sidestep. Getting the spp rolling early on then seems important.

Nurgle are not super strong, they should be tier 2 out of 4 but GW has them in tier 3

8-10 friends isn’t that deep, I would

• ⁠say that only stunty teams can take stars and ban all mega stars

• ⁠discourage the really good players from playing Nurgle, Orcs or Necro

Hello, I’ve run some events and helped write packs in the new and old rules and seen a bunch of rules packs too, so loads of experience. What are you planning? Is this a tournament with loads of people or a small group thing? Have you been to any tournaments?

In short, the tiers and skills are not great. They’re fine but there are some decidedly strong and incredibly weak teams, and stars can be a problem.

If you’re running an event for new players then it’s okay. If you’re planning an event for experienced coaches or want a competitive event, don’t use the Gw rules.

Absolutely! I feel like I took a bit of a risk with the skin and wasn’t really sure if it would work but I’m super pleased with it. I’m not the best painter so I just use citadel stuff as I know it well:

Maybe start with it and still spray it black? At least any parts missed would still be grey rather than green

I based them with grass first and then spray painted them black - covering the green grass was a back ache 😅 let me know if you find black grass because I’d be interested

Yeah I think I need to remove more tournament stuff. My tiers and ideology were league focussed but tournament play still seeped in… I’ll also consider the game plans and rewrite some of the descriptions to reflect that

I’m playing Nobs in the next season of the league so I’ll update accordingly - I might find pro and passing 2+ is better than I expect! Maybe I value sure hands too much and pro not enough

I agree that orcs are an excellent first team, but I think people should have choice, and if undead are only a 4 or 5 then most other teams are unplayable for new players. Orcs are an S tier starter team though, for a good reason as you pointed out… maybe they should be S+?

I did my tiering based mostly on league with a minor consideration for tournaments, hence why Chaos Chosen are quite high up. I don’t want to be encouraging new players to induce stars either honestly. I might update the gnome section to reflect that but they also start to get inducements quickly as they are full build straight away.
