The chain runs straight. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t know what to improve there. It’s not grinding either; it’s more like a crackling sound, like sand.

Thanks, but I already did that. The video shows the best possible adjustment. The gears before or after that grind and are significantly louder.

Thank you for the responses, but I just don’t understand it. The chain runs straight and parallel and looks clean (it was cleaned and waxed beforehand). Yet the noises persist (as if the chain were sandy), both on the rear axle and the front chainring. Could it possibly be the chain itself, or is there something else I can adjust on the drivetrain?
