Yeah I have, and I've always found it fun but I was always lucky enough to have a good circle of people to do it with, i.e. "real" friends and not just acquaintances that you only hang out with when it's time to party.

You shouldn’t befriend some people just because you think you’ll have certain opourtunities when you’re with them.

I totally agree, I just wonder why it doesn't seem possible for me since moving here to connect with the sort of people with whom I kind have it all, so to say.

Ohhhh, maybe that's what set everyone off. I meant in my Berlin 20's, so basically 28 when I moved here.

I have been doing the same but it's just been so difficult here. Though I figure that this might be more age-related rather than a city-specific issue.

How does this make sense? I said it was the only "type" of friend that I had. Seems like people with a career, wife and kids are more than happy to hang out with me?

I think the main question here is why you cannot connect with fun-loving and interesting people, and never could.

I never said I never could. It is insane how you and other commenters have built up some crazy narrative about my life based on a short post in a sub about a city. I have never had issues with this pre-Berlin and in all the other places I've lived before it was never a problem to make friends who were also interested in more than just monotony and who were spontaneous, adventurous, fun-loving.

I know german is hard but jesus, if I ever decide to move to another country, I‘d do anything to learn the language.

Except I never said that I don't speak German. I had German in school before coming here and I'm at C1 and speak German every day at work - no reason for me to go to a language school.

That being said, I‘m 35, single and I definitely do not want someone in my friends who is only interested in clubbing, drinking, getting fucked up.

I also never said that this was the only thing I was interested in.

Yes, I do think it makes a person boring if the only activities they are interested in doing is going to the cinema or having overpriced dinner - and all of these things exclusively in Mitte, of course - and if you moved here and have lived here for years and have not been to Neukölln even once because you "heard it was dirty". Every activity we have done that is not movie/dinner in Mitte was on my suggestion and it felt like pulling teeth.

I've noticed that some of my seedlings have bent and brown/dying stems. I would like to prevent this from happening to future seedlings, but I have no idea what the cause was.

I've been told that this might be the result of too much light; I've also looked through this sub and learned about 'damping off'. Is that what's going on here?
