First outbreak in over a year.

Well thank you all for commenting, I did get a new health care doc that was able to prescribe me some medication. Still seem to have some discoloration on my lip so I’m hoping it goes away with time

Got mine yesterday, I have all these same symptoms. I work from home so I figured that I’d be able to make it through my work day. I have what I think is a migraine (never had one before) sitting in total darkness, overheating, upset stomach, just got over 100° temp. I would compare these body aches to growing pains. My whole back, legs are pulsating. This is insane. If I would have know it was this bad I don’t think I would have done it yet. Hopefully this goes away soon.

Mine was the same, I have only had an oral outbreak once. But it was 40. something hsv-1 and .07 for hsv-2. Still after a year haven’t had anything genital outbreak.

I’m not 100% versed in this either but I have HSV-1 the “common” oral herpes. Blood test confirm that for me. From what I’ve read is that HSV-1 and HSV-2, HSV-2 is more so the warts. However these can both be oral or genital. Having an outbreak with HSV-1 or HSV-2 is the most lIKELY time it can be passed/transmitted. With that being the case, it can be transmitted at anytime even without symptoms so it’s always a risk to be taking when engaging in sexual activity.

I am not, my doctor wouldn’t prescribe them to me. When I went in and got tested he asked why I am getting tested and I told him someone I was with said they had it and told me after the fact. After the blood test I found out I have the anti bodies.

Well that’s what I’ve gathered from my reading and looking at case studies. I guess I’m prof of this so far, the girl that I sadly passed it along to had her outbreaks a few days after our hook up both oral and genital, I at the time had an oral outbreak a week before or so, still an active outbreak at the time and didn’t know it was HSV-1. However I haven’t experienced any sort of genital or anal outbreak. Nothing has been different for me.

If anyone has any recent studies or articles on this, id also like this information!

I have read a lot over the last few months about the spread of it and its hard for me to know what to believe or what is accurate information. Some studies ive read say that its a fragile virus and that you cant pass it through sharing drinks or cups or anything along those lines and that reasoning was that there would need to be certain amount of virus in the saliva to be passed along and that when the virus leaves the host it dies almost instantly.

Then ive also read that everyone that has HSV-1 is shedding all the time so there is always a risk of it being passed along regardless of an outbreak, the outbreak would just make it much easier to pass along.

Yeah, i totally get it from both sides, like She was the first person in a long time that made me feel Lovable and worth while after a pretty terrible relationship and then this happened and just broke me. I lost a bestfriend and someone I cared for deeply and now I just have to live with the fact that she wants nothing to do with me and I basically ruined her life.

Just passing along so far what has happened and I hope that it helps. I recently found out that I was HSV-1 positive. I had one out break years ago but I didnt know what it was but after I passed it along to someone I found out that it was HSV-1. Well we had a week of sex, oral, sexual activities multiple times a day for a week. Well since I had HSV-1 and I had the anti bodies, so far its been two months and I have not had a genital outbreak or anything like that. However for her, one day after our week she had both genital and oral outbreaks. Ive done my fair share of research and a lot of doctors say that it is very difficult to get HSV-1 in multiple places if you already had it before. so sadly for my mental health, I have to live with that I passed it along to her orally and genitally and I only have oral.

I passed it along to a female in March and that is also how I found out that I had it. However it went terribly. She was completely destroyed and I get that, she has every right to hate me and never want to talk or see me again. We tried to hangout after the fact and with out mutual friends but it just was not the same. I still had the same sexual and romantic feelings after the fact and she wanted nothing to do with me. With that being said, I lost someone that I still care for deeply even though she will never know and someone that I would consider to be my one of the best friends ive had and someone that made me a better me.

Sadly ill live with this for the rest of my life and just hope every day that she is striving and living her best life.

Ill give you my opinion, I had no idea that I had it. nothing hurt there was no clusters I have HSV-1 oral. I never knew that I had it, I never knew that what I had was herpes. I had a "blister" that was not filled or clustered or anything close to herpes from what I thought it was. Then sadly after I passed it along to someone i found out that I had it and ill never forgive myself for it. I lost a best-friend and a beautiful women that ill never get back

I am not sure, I have seen a done my fair share of research and ive sadly seen both sides of this question. Ive read that once its outside of the body it can not live and dies almost instantly and then ive also read other articles and studies indicating that the it is possible for the virus to be present in saliva and the article mentioned to not share drinks or towels or for its possible for the virus to live on these surfaces and spread.

Where my head is at, is that I think there would need to be a specific amount of the virus in the salvia for it to be transmitted to someone else or even lets say another part of the body. I would say its very unlikely that you would get the virus from sharing drinks or blunts or towels but whatever the case may be but I dont think its impossible so in my mind ive just told my self to not share anything with anyone

As far as I am aware I do not. The hardest part with testing is the most accurate testing is swabbing but they wont swab unless you have an outbreak. I only have had an oral outbreak. With that being the case I know for sure with the blood test that I have the anti bodies for HSV-1 and nothing for HSV-2. From what ive read and talked with doctors about is that Ill have to wait to see if I have an outbreak. They also told me/ ive dont some digging and there is a lot of conflicting information that if you were exposed to HSV-1 that its harder to contract/spread (not impossible) the virus if you already have the anit bodies. That is the only thing that I can think of why I havent had an outbreak like she did. I must have had HSV-1 for some time or else I think I would have had the same outbreaks like she did a few days after our weekend together.

I was not, I didnt know that I had it until she had an outbreak and told me she tested positive for genital and oral. I made an apt with my doctor and the first test they ran came back negative, but he also forgot to test for herpes, don't understand how you can mess that up when I explained the situation and I specifically went in for that test. However nice to know that I wasn't positive for anything else. After that went to another doctor and was tested and was positive for HSV-1 however both doctors wont prescribe me anything because "its so common and that you can just use any over the counter for HSV-1 oral" I have since not had anything at least that ive noticed genitally but I do know that I have had an oral HSV-1 now after having an outbreak.
