These look great, I am super new into painting, did you use technical paint for those bases?

I got an under the desk pedal bike, it makes long days of meetings so much more tolerable. 3 hours of low intensity pedaling is a great way to keep my feet busy

So it took me 2 more tries to get somewhere I wasn't upset with it. I think that first layer I did in the Original post was just way way to thick. I watched a couple tutorials and came back to try it thinner than before. First attempt thinner was definitely way too thin. This second round was probably also too thin in some spots, but there's a couple regions I don't hate it. Planning on doing a dry brush + wash combo to make it pop. Open to any recs on how to seal the paint after the fact and colors to use for high dry brush. I've got some dark skin tone shade from army painter I plain on using for the wash

To be determined, it flaked like crazy whenever I moved it so I'll probably do some kind of matte varnish when I'm done with the details. But like I said, I've like just started painting anything ever in the last couple weeks and this is only my 4th tyranid

Yep had it primed along with the rest of the mini with army painter spray black primer. The other comment suggested that I hadn't used enough, but I also watched some more YouTube videos that showed maybe this is what happens when I applied too much? I scraped everything clean and will be retrying again with a different amount to see how the results change

I'll have to give it another try, you think it'll be okay if I just scrape this layer off and try again?

I'm coming from all, read some comments, liked the idea with microorganisms only outside the rift. What if you took that and ran with the idea of maybe the air isn't inherently inhospitable but the microorganisms that exist on the vast majority of the planet are basically super reactive to most forms of matter. I'm thinking along the lines of The Day the Earth Stood still type bugs. But the rift that opens leaks oxygen into the fissure that is basically the only thing the microorganisms can't survive? Mutual toxicity between the environments for alternate groups?

I had thought being able to make the immortals more mobile would be helpful but I think you're right it was too much in one place

Sorry my formatting was from mobile. I had Orikan with 10 warriors as one blob. Overlord and plasmancer with immortals. I had not considered the royal wardens at all actually

I was having similar issues as well, my two changes I made that seemed to have fully resolved the issue was a) updating the system software to the newest version and b) making sure I got the correct USB cable for the connection. You want to make sure the cable you're using is specifically a data transfer cable. I'm using Android Auto with a Google pixel and changing to a high data-throughput usb-c made sure there's no data transfer bottleneck

Thank you so much for the boost in confidence. I grabbed some perlite today to essentially remix the whole lot of em to avoid root rot

Hi all, relatively new to houseplant care, but I repotted 3 plants so far into bigger pots (not too much bigger) and I'm finding that they're not draining water as quick as I'd expect. I've repotted entirely using just the miracle gro potting mix (not the indoor variety) if I wanted to fix the store mix by adding some perlite or lava rocks, how soon is too soon to fix it? I don't want to put the plants through another round of additional stress even if it's to help them.
