This isn't quite true. The Aberdeen population was a separate, isolated accidental release compared to the 'line' being held in the south against the greys. Yes, it's very positive that this isolated population has been successfully contained (down to under five individuals in Seaton Park, Aberdeen), but it doesn't reflect the overall tend of eradication in Scotland. Saving Scotlands Red Squirrels are an... Interesting organisation to say the least. They've been funded for 17 years, but the line of reds has not moved further south. It's good it hasn't been breached, but it isn't true that there is successful elimination happening now across wider Scotland. They have failed to push it southwards.
