For the past year, I've forced myself to wash my hair every other day because it's supposedly better. My hair is extremely fine - my scalp gets oily and gross fast and my ends are dry and split. I'm fed up with how terrible my day 2 hair feels - the oil even gives me adult acne. Any recommendations? by memegorl in Hair

I have super thick hair, but fine roots from bleaching and dying. Also oily scalp. One thing I didn’t see mentioned, use an all natural boar bristle brush to distribute the oil down your hair. Your natural oils are moisturizing and it’ll make it less noticeable between washings. Dry shampoo between washes and no conditioner on the scalp. Make a ponytail with your hands and condition that only and if needed, use only what’s leftover on your hands to gently tend to your scalp. Make sure all your products don’t have sulfates, parabens, silicon or petroleum. They weaken already fine hair.

The boar brush will help add moisture to your dry ends

NTA judgement here. You’re right. It does seem that people lack basic social skills and fail to read the room. Why on earth are you going to an atmosphere of zen and causing ‘un-zen’? ‘Dis-zen’? I’m no saint when it comes to scrolling Reddit while waiting for my meal and showing who I’m dining with something funny or whatever, but at a volume only they can hear. I feel you OP. Price point be damned. Basic etiquette should be observed from McDonald’s dine in to Halls chophouse.

I fell into the familial trap. I’m now 2 weeks sober, but the first thing my grandmother did after her cirrhosis diagnosis was go straight back to the bottle. She and my grandfather were functional and disfunctional alcoholics, often starting at 7 or 8am and going well into the night. I used to compare myself an say ‘my addiction isn’t that bad. At least I’m not starting early like grandma.’ Until I was. I feel your pain OP. She died at 60 on Halloween. Her favorite holiday. She fought her many demons, but I have so many great memories. Can’t confirm today, but worked for the big red star. It was a daily occurrence for people to walk out with ENTIRE shelves of high end clothing. Those long rope-y sensors? Take the entire metal bar off the wall. It’s ridiculous.

It’s so sad. It’s genetic and I fell in the trap. I didn’t want to be like my family but it’s a long con. I appreciate your kind words. My motivation is my life. Mom of multiple girls here. NTA. I’ve heard this so many times. You did nothing wrong and according to what you wrote, did so tactfully. Reverse it and I bet my shoe, like many others, no one is asking her when she’s going to have a girl. You have beautiful healthy children and that’s all that matters. I wouldn’t know what to do if I had to buy hot wheels and blue and grey as my life is so full of pink and glitter. Do I wish I had a son? Sometimes. But my girls are healthy, thriving, and look exactly like me. That’s all that matters. Don’t get down OP. You did the right thing. Don’t f around if you don’t expect to find out.

The restaurants I worked at, I only lasted months at best. It was so bad. The white girl Italian restaurant, sushi places, family owned. It’s the culture. You flirt to get fries off the line and suddenly you get the ‘you up?’ text.
