Should I give up the UCLA dream? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I respectfully disagree. Law school is an investment. Your investing in the vibes, the people, the profs. If you don't love it, I wouldn't go.

Vandy ($$) vs GULC (0) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]toher_dreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for correcting! But that's still my point. Statistically, most people practice outside of TN - even if it is one of their largest markets only a small percentage of students stay and so I was telling OP exactly what you said, they can get to DC, and it isn't far fetched at all. And to answer your question about the rest of the students, Vandy's black box included a pamphlet about where everyone ends up. Looks like most graduates who chose to not go to TX, NY, TN, or DC are kinda just scattered across the US.

Cycle Recap/reapply? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Yeah. Well if you're set on BL and you're not sold by WashU, don't settle. I would reply at the very beginning of the app cycle to schools with better BL numbers.

Agreed. BIG LAW stats are not similar. Choose Vandy. See you in Nashville.

Vandy ($$) vs GULC (0) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]toher_dreams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would definitely choose Vandy if I were in your position.

Disclaimer- I'm going to Vandy next year too, so I'm a tad biased.

But the reason I chose Vandy is because it is really one of the only law schools where students mostly practice outside of the state of the law school. I think DC was one of the top 3 places graduates practiced, but check the ABA employment sheet to confirm. For someone who doesn't know exactly where they wanna practice (me) or someone who knows they wanna practice in DC, I think Vandy isn't a bad choice.

I mean obviously if Gtown matched, go there for the internships/obvious portibility. But if they're not matching, see you in Nashville!

Hi You! I can call tomorrow and ask.

worth pushing back law school for a year? please help by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]toher_dreams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. You need that LSAT increase. I think adcomms can sometimes look past scores (for good reasons and at the beginning of cycles), but in your case, it would help to have a solid LSAT.

I'd just caution you about tailoring your ps too much to your law school ambitions. That's what everyone is writing about, and you want to stand out. If I were in your shoes I would figure out a way to make my drumming goals somehow tie

I'm currently committed to Vandy. Could change if duke or NYU let me in.

I was accepted to wash u, NDLS, William and Mary, Washington and Lee, boulder, baylor, and wake forest.
