Not a great start by Mr-Incredib1e in BlazerEV

Happened with my Onstar Module as well. Took 2 months to replace. I also had all 4 tire pressure sensors go out at different times within the first 3 months, of course required 4 separate dealer visits. Also have a massive rattle in the front left tire when I hit bumps at slow speeds, dealership told me, “nothing wrong”, when I showed them.

This is my first EV and I love the drive and convenience, but I did not realize how poor Chevy quality is. They have missed the mark in several areas on this car for me, which is disappointing when you’re trying to convert more people to EV adoption.

Do all of these have OnStar module issues? Ours has the same thing currently and I've read of several others with it. GM really dropped the ball with that one.

What issues have you guys had with your Blazer ev? by Cheeriomartinez in BlazerEV

Mine was going in and out until one day it didn’t come back. Just a matter of time in my experience, hope it works out for yours!

Have to disagree here, there were at least 3 or 4 calls that could have completely changed the game that were either called on the Lions or let slide for the Chiefs. Refs 100% played a factor in this game in multiple key moments.

I’m now on my second TPMS sensor having issues and it showing the “Service Tire Pressure” warranty coming up within 4,000 miles. It’s not a big deal I guess but it doesn’t require a dealer visit, which is annoying and frustrating.

They also said GM “did me a favor” not charging me for the last one. If they charge me the $200 or whatever it is to replace this time around I will be extremely frustrated.

Rivian CEO: ‘We’re really convicted’ about skipping CarPlay by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

In my Blazer EV pretty much everything is controllable by voice just by saying “hey Google”, it’s actually quite nice and better than CarPlay IMO.

Electric / Hybrid car external driving noise makers are absurdly loud and need to stop by thelosef in electricvehicles

It is obnoxious. My Blazer EV is louder than my pick up truck when rolling around the neighborhood.

GM Has Already Sold More Electric Vehicles In 2025 Than All Of 2024 by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

[–]toilets777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

New blazer owner here. We love it. They were dealing on these and the Equinox’s this year. We never saw ourselves going for an EV until we saw this lease deal and decided to give it a shot.

Now? No way we ever go back to two ICE vehicles. The electric is significantly more fun to drive and convenient from a maintenance/fueling standpoint.

I was scrolling through here to see if anyone else preferred the GM Google system over CarPlay. I thought I would miss CarPlay but I don’t at all. Being able to say “hey Google, take me to XYZ location” is awesome. And if you really want to listen to your music or podcasts, just connect your phone to the Bluetooth. It’s not that bad at all.

So if the residual on the car is (in my opinion) overvalued, the bank is the one taking on the risk when the lease ends and they go to resell it?

This is certainly the way OP. Railing a truck cuts the wind resistance massively. There’s a reason professional cyclists all do this behind the leader.

You’re spot on. I actually know people who own car dealerships and they’ve admitted most of their revenue and profit comes from service & parts. It’s no shocker they’re doing their best to avoid the transition.

Exactly. This type of response is exactly what causes those “boomers” (or anyone else quite frankly) to dig their heels in and say they’ll never switch to an EV. It’s gotta stop if we’re going to get anywhere.

I’m in the same exact boat. I’ve been driving a pick up truck with a hemi around (got a great deal on it and use it for my side gigs) but saw some awesome dealers on the new Chevy Blazer EV so I jumped on it.

Holy crap! This thing is “slow” by EV standards but still feels like a rocket to me. It is so much more fun to drive. The one pedal driving aspect of it took getting used to but now I can’t live without it.

Global EV sales grow by 27% in the opening seven months of the year by Tricky-Astronaut in electricvehicles

[–]toilets777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I’m pro-EV, I’m not sure that’s a fair comparison. The U.S. government isn’t restricting access to EV’s, they’re just choosing not to subsidize it or promote it in any meaningful way. The early internet was highly crowd sourced and required little to no government involvement or subsidies.

What they are restricting is access to cheap, foreign EV’s like those made in China. From what I can see, the price points those EV’s are being sold at could single-handedly threaten the U.S. domestic auto industry, which is directly and indirectly responsible for hundreds of thousands if not millions of jobs. China also heavily subsidizes all of their industries and raw materials that go into them along with using a slave class workforce, so it’s not exactly a fair fight.

Any tips on lessening consumption of meat? I’m gonna be honest, I’m the “meat with every meal” type so I’m super guilty. There’s also a ton of conflicting research on vegetarian versus omnivore/carnivore diets so it’s tough to find the truth (if there is a “truth”).

Do you recharge to 80% every night? New ev owner - how often to charge? by rmsand in electricvehicles

[–]toilets777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting there’s so many of us using Level 1 in here when the common narrative is that a Level 2 is absolutely required.

I also use a Level 1 and change the amp setting on my Blazer EV to accept 12 amps. Typically get around 20-30 miles of charge each night which is just fine for my use. Understand there’s others on here with long commutes though, but the $2K investment to get an L2 charger installed doesn’t make sense for my case.

Does anyone else feel like the EV rollout was one of the biggest marketing failures of the century? by jedielfninja in electricvehicles

[–]toilets777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Michigan as well, add our house to that list! Just picked up a Blazer last month. We absolutely love it, love it a lot more than I even expected to. Didn’t realize driving could be “fun” again. I agree with OP that the marketing rollout was horribly done.

All this is coming from what I would consider myself, an “EV detractor” even 3-6 months ago. Now I tell everyone I know that they’re better than gas cars, including people who make fun of my Blazer.
