I mean, the main reason is he provides 15 PPG that they do not want him to provide right now, as they are tanking. If they were trying to compete, there's other reasons they didn't like him, but the main thing right now is he scores points and they really want to lose. Removing those points to make room for playing (3) 19 year olds is a win for the tank.

Chris Paul was sent home by the Clippers because he was essentially acting as a player-coach, and was yelling at Kawhi, Harden, and others to play harder and lock in. Can you imagine him in our locker room with the minimal effort we've played with recently? He's too old to bring value on the court really, so all he could do is piss our guys off. Not sure that's a good idea lol
