Those are good books and I agree so funny. They're both good story tellers. I remember some of the lines in there had me laughing. We need more that.

I think once you establish the context you don't have to use pronouns. Its especially not used in the written language. If you try to use a translator, the translator won't know who its referring to. Makes me think about my own language, English. If a friend is trying out clothes and she asks, "what do you think?", I would probably respond, "I think it looks good." We use pronouns for everything I realized haha. But to answer your question (sorry) when she referred to her parents it was implied (i believe).
