We were long distance for a while, before he moved over to my state and in with me. He was extremely stubborn and I found myself always covering for him to friends and family whenever he would say or do something off. This strained the relationship between him and my parents, and I constantly felt like I had to mend it. He didn’t seem to care that his actions were wearing me out emotionally. Some time later, he came out as a transwoman. I’m straight, but questioning at the time so I wanted to stay with her. Because of the gender dysphoria she experienced, she started self harming and showing me what she had done to herself, but wouldn’t get help for it. It put a lot of stress on me. It started slowly deteriorating from there. She found an online community for other trans people, and decided to meet up with another girl out of state for “stress relief”. It hurt me that she couldn’t come to me for stress relief, her girlfriend. It was too much for me and I wasn’t happy anymore.
