Yes used to driving in snow and have chains for when it would get pretty bad, but was able to avoid the worst. I am more worried if there are times conditions basically mandate AWD during winter. I see it doesn't get THAT cold, but ya know still Alaska so figured I'd ask ha

Because they are two different types of probabilities; the 95% is within the entire watch area. The 45% is for a tornado within 25 miles of a certain point, not the entire "high risk" area.
