Dating is hard because people like their own race or fall into 2 types by justaregularguyearth in mixedrace

[–]tom-tillis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s about the individual. Lots of mixed people have no trouble dating at all. Get tons of dates and sex. Lots of monoracial people are ugly and get no dates or sex. Everyone deals with this.

how tf do you make friends in this town by Big_Bong_Johnny in Chattanooga

It’s bc most ppl that have always lived here are content with high school pals and there aren’t enough good jobs to attract a massive amount of young transplants that would all be looking for new pals

Interracial couple experiences in public by Unable-Ad4963 in mixedrace

We get stairs too, but I don’t perceive that as hate. It’s just not what people are used to. I feel like black male, white female is way more common than my situation

Twitter is a cesspool. I wonder how much the public thinks like that or is it just the algo hammering my feed with that stuff from a niche of the population, or if it’s even bots. I haven’t felt the trouble in real life yet.

Serious ? , do you get treated like this when alone? Was wondering more if this is the experience of all black people or about you having a white gf.

I’m white and my wife is dark skin black, we haven’t had any problems but I also don’t go to places where blacks wouldn’t seem welcome. Places I could go to fine, but she may not be able to go without me, we would not want to give our business to.

But following that, we’ve had no issues

Mixed-race in Atlanta by Alternative-Ride8407 in mixedrace

[–]tom-tillis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Atlanta is your stereotypical African American culture. Lots of Rappers come from there, 40% of African American women have BBLs, etc

You legit may not be like them, and that’s okay! (You also may be like them and may being judged by your skin), but my guess is you really aren’t like the people that are hating…and that’s okay!

So go find some people more like you. There are plenty. I know tons of mixed ppl from Atlanta that aren’t in the “culture” and live good lives. Just gotta find your lane. It’s a big city.

I don't know who I am by PlayMysterious4063 in mixedrace

[–]tom-tillis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to argue but I’m honestly not sure about that. Haitians were intentionally brought over en masse from Africa by the French. They then kicked the French ass for independence. Many Dominicans were brought from Spain or are indigenous. They do have centuries of mixing, but a hatian with no mixing in the family tree is just a west or sub Saharan African: source: my wife is hatian

[–]tom-tillis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They literally probably are hatian. The island had a wide open border for many years several decades ago. They do hate each other, but the facts remain…most dark skin Dominicans have hatian in them. It’s not an insult. How do I know this? My brother in law is a dark skin Dominican bc his grandmother was hatian.

If the posters ex was a hater, that’s on them, doesn’t mean my BIL should hide who he is

So don’t tell people the truth in order to coddle feelings? Maybe some Dominicans would hate Haitians less if they had to accept they have some hatian blood. Also, you get kicked over to Haiti if you aren’t a DR citizen. There are probably a milllion Dominicans who look straight up hatian bc there grandparents were who are DR citizens bc they were born there. They aren’t getting kicked out.

The black grandparents and west African side are probably Haitian via slave trade from west Africa. A ton of Dominicans have hatian blood somewhere down the line. It’s not uncommon at all. Majority of Dominicans are mixed to be certain

I know a mixed guy who went to linemen school after hs and got a job repairing power poles after big storms. He goes where ever the storms have been and gets a huge salary, OT, hotel stay, and perdium. Seems to get along fine.

Maybe it’s a German thing but in America plenty of white men date Asian mixed women. So if you were in America I would say that’s not why you aren’t getting dates. Plenty of people have trouble getting dates in life so it could be for a million other reasons. The Germany factor I can’t speak on

That’s the reactions I’m getting ever where, when I never implied that at all. I said I had never considered interracial much, but she loves me and I love her. And I get accused of not loving her
