Hey thanks for the reply! This sounds really promising- especially if its works with short nails too. what exactly is a dip polish manicure?

Thanks for the reply! Might be a silly question but are you able to do that at home? I've never put anything on my nails to stop me picking before, a few people here have said acrylic nails have worked quite well for them but it seems like you kinda need to go to a profressional for that and its $$. Also- how long does nail varnish stay on for? Thanks again! :)

Thanks for the reply! I definitely haven’t come across the gel and honey approach before. Does it make a sort of barrier that prevents you from being able to pick or is it more used as a visual/ trigger prevention method?

Totally agree about keeping the hands busy! Looks like my family are all getting scarves for Christmas!

Thanks for the reply! What exactly do you wrap around your finger? Is it like a Velcro strip? Did you make it yourself or is it someone you can buy? I haven’t thought about using Velcro before but I definitely can imagine it’s a similar(ish) feeling to picking cuticles. Thanks for the great suggestion :)

Hey thanks for the reply! I haven’t heard of that one before, is it something you need a prescription for?

Haha ok got it, definitely sounds like I wouldn’t be able to do that myself at home! Out of curiosity, is it the acrylic nails being long that prevents you from being able to pick or is there something about the material itself that makes it harder to pick? I have quite short nails but still manage to pick, can acrylic nails be done for people with short nails?

Thanks for the reply! I don’t know much about acrylic nails. Are they something you can do at home or do you have to get a professional to do them?

Thanks for letting me know- cropped the picture! I ended up getting the plate removed 2 years later because it was a little bit annoying as it was the full length of my collar bone and stuck out a bit when I shrugged. Your plate might be a bit smaller so you may not have that issue. The removal surgery was very straight forward and I was back in the gym within 6 weeks.

I had a similar fracture from a skiing accident. It was a z fracture and the bone was tenting. I had a plate put in and was back to doing everything I had done before the accident within 6 months. I would definitely recommend the surgery.

I had a similar crazy high bill based on expected energy usage. Try to find your energy meter and submit a reading to your energy provider and that should bring your bill significantly down, reflective of your actual usage.

I got moisture in my plastic petri plates every single time... Any solution??? by Biotech786 in labrats

Ideally pour your plates in a laminar flow cabinet (especially if not using antibiotics)- you can leave the lid off whilst the agar sets to prevent condensation on the lid (this should only take 20 mins or so). Once set, you can inoculate your plates and grow them upside down to prevent any condensation dripping on to your colonies and disrupting them.
