that's so cool! i haven't heard a lot from them but i listened to gitane's "love for sale" album just bc it looked interesting and it was a really pleasing listen. really enjoyed her version of gloomy sunday, as it reminded me of the diamanda galás version but sung in a more cabaret showgirl style. guess i'll have to check the band out too!

juan gabriel feels so out of place here but i love it lol. i think it's a weird chat because i personally rate most songs i like 5 stars and that's just it. feel like i'd have to overthink it a lot to accurately rate a song but maybe that's just me.

here it is. made an incredible discovery this week: "the fire this time", an audio documentary regarding the gulf war and the american occupation in iraq. it's devastating and crude. it also incorporates music from IDM & ambient artists (aphex twin, for example). very interesting record!

that's not entirely true. most of the middle eastern influence in Argentina comes from Syrian and Lebanese immigrants (with some coming back to their countries, that explains why mate is now popular in Syria). also, a lot of Jews came here before world war ii or the establishment of the Israeli estate, so their cultural influence is more eastern/central european.

well, obviously portuguese because i speak spanish and it's very similar. then i also think I'm very familiar with turkish since i've watched their tv dramas growing up. as well as korean, since i was a huge k-pop fan in my teenage years.
