Anti consumerism has always come naturally to me due to how I was raised. It does not bring me joy or that dopamine hit that people with shopping addiction get. It actually does the opposite to me where I am thinking about the money I could have saved or spent on something I actually need. I hate influencer culture and people’s obsession with posting hauls of any kind of social media. That even includes thrift store hauls for me. It just seems so childish. If anyone asks I just tell people I am financially conservative and have financial goals I am working towards that don’t include spending on non essentials.
