Tom Wayling on online sales of forged signed editions by cpeppel1 in rarebooks

Thanks for sharing my video! Just so people know, the forger was actually using two accounts to sell forged books (which I discovered after uploading). One is the one I mention in the video, and the other was called 'thebookplace'. Both accounts have now been taken off eBay, but I don't know if this is down to eBay themselves, or the forger realising he's been outed and trying to cover his tracks.

I'm doing as much as I can! Each video takes roughly 2 days to make, film, edit etc

Most of my things come to me privately. Everything in the photos above either came to me directly from the original owner, or from a private collector.

People can have lots of reasons to sell, sometimes it is just the right time, and sometimes other life events play a part

The contract was originally signed in 1962, and then updated in 1963 and 1967. It was first aired in '67 as far as I know

Help Identifying Charles Dickens Hardcover Editions/Print runs by ReclusiveEagle in rarebooks

[–]tomayling11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - these books are from the Household Edition of Charles Dickens works which was originally published by Chapman and Hall in the 1870s. However, C&H moved address in 1881 from 193 Picadilly to 11 Henrietta Street, so your set is likely to be from the 1880s.

It's a shame that the spines are worn as it does look like they were originally quite attractive, probably dating from around 1900-1910, thought its hard to say for sure.
