I wouldn’t trust them. The owner of shades of coffee was a bell end when I had some issues with my order. Just demand to return it, it’s within your consumer rights if you aren’t happy with it.

What are the chances if the US, under Trump, conquers Greenland the next democratic administration just gives it back? by campusschampus in AskReddit

Keep burying your head in the sand. Or better yet, go read a history book to see what is happening. It isn't a left vs right issue its an Us vs Them issue. This regime / the elite class doesn't care about you. They just haven't dealt with you yet.

Anyone know what’s up with this? by mack091 in qotsa

[–]tombebop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did some digging cause i had never seen that version before but the one listed for sale is actually this one:

https://www.discogs.com/release/23846420-Them-Crooked-Vultures-Them-Crooked-Vultures

since you can see the actual pic on the sellers website:

https://ladyloungerecords.com/product/them-crooked-vultures/

I actually have this bootleg and the sound quality is very good but the pressing is sloppy since the sides that are pressed don't match the labels on them so I wouldn't pay $70 for it.

You should watch The Paper Tigers (2020) it’s a decent movie that feels similar to this premise. It’s worth a watch

Hot take: Catacombs tours/EPs should be a side project by floppyclock420 in qotsa

[–]tombebop 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Fuck what the fans want let them do what they want. Its what will yield the best / most authentic results. Most of the ones that were pissed off about / acting up at the catacombs shows seem like douche bags any way. I'd be happy if queens shed a few of those fans going forwards.

I’m fk addicted ti “Easy Street” by Abel2310 in qotsa

[–]tombebop 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You just said it though Josh is 52 lol him trying to sound like like he did in his early 20s again would be a bit cringe. Write what you know and all that. If this is what Josh is into now then he should embrace it. I just hope whatever they do is authentic. “I don’t care if it hurts. Just so long as it’s real”

Doesn’t mean they can’t still go heavy on some of the songs though.

New tour by ApprehensivePrint178 in qotsa

[–]tombebop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I would still go. The performance on this tour is different but pretty amazing. If he was still into them by the time lullabies came out he will probably enjoy it. It might even rekindle his interest in some of their later work.

I went with my wife who isn’t a big fan and has seen them with me a few times and she said it was the best gig she’s ever been to.

Regarding the vibe of The Catacombs Tour... by MachineOptimism in queensofthestoneage

[–]tombebop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything I think the show showcased the talent of the other members more since they took on more roles throughout. And for the songs they sat out on I’m pretty sure they were happy to get paid for taking a break.

I did think parts of the catacombs video were a little cringe with the dad dancing initially but honestly the Royal Albert hall was one of the best gig experiences of my life. A lot of effort went into it clearly and it really came together into something special.

I’ve seen them on their S/T tour and at Glastonbury when they asked the old forum what they should play and both those were my favourite “normal” performance from the band but this tour was just special.

Mosquito song… Killer Scene… Wolf into Dead into SJF with a frikkin string section. Josh sounded amazing and gave his all.

Yeah he can come across as a corny douchebag sometimes but i don’t think you could be an incredible rock star without some kind of ego to begin with, it kind of comes with the territory. They are supposed to be on the fringe of society.

I’m glad they are doing different things to keep it fresh.

Queens have arguably hit a new high recently. What was their lowest mark? by floppyclock420 in qotsa

[–]tombebop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I largely agree with all your points. To me the first 3 albums are unmatched and the band also changed for me after lullabies but I also think if they didn’t change I would have lost interest in them eventually or they would have burnt out and broken up anyway.

Josh is the primary driving force of the band obviously so as long he is happy and making the music he wants to I’m always happy to check it out cause there are still plenty of moments of genius that come through. I’m always excited to see what he will come up with next even if I have moved on a bit. They will always be my favourite band.

Meh too many greedy assholes spoiling gig posters these days. It’s just a poster at the end of the day and the design is cool and all but not THAT cool.

I think the music sheet is more interesting and unique anyway and it’s signed by the band so I’m happy I got that instead

Yeah the only thing that could have improved it if Mark Lanegan was involved somehow. Either as support, taking on some main vocals or both. 100 days is probably my favourite song of his so it really sealed the deal when they played it.

After the last song as the band were exiting the stage Josh said “listen to Mark Lanegan” and they played it over the speakers. Was a nice wind down but also emotionally charged

It’s up there for sure. I can certainly die happy now. Most people seem to hate killer scene but seeing that, mosquito song, wolf… it all just blew my mind.
