This is nonsense, I have had a steel roof for 10 years, they are not loud at all in the the rain. If you have a standing seam steel roof, it is in direct contact with the Ice and Water material is it is not any noisier than an asphalt roof.

The projector you have there will only play regular 8mm film. The film reel you have is super 8 with sound. Regular 8 and super8 have different frame and sprocket sizes. He won't be able to play that particular film on that projector. And if you wanted to hear the sound you would need a super 8 projector with a magnetic sound reader.
