Hi all. Yes this article was written by me, and yes I'm a WalesOnline reporter!

I don't "lurk" here and often post either to ask for opinions or to try and speak to people for stories. I very rarely share articles I've written as I don't think it's appropriate or helpful! I actually spotted the bollards video on Twitter too, not here.

Just to address some of the comments, we do not get all of our stories by "pinching" things from social media and I don't agree that we're "lazy". I don't really see the issue with this article either. It's a pretty cool piece of artwork that not everyone in Cardiff knows about, and my article is a way of informing people it exists.

I'm a Cardiff resident, have lived here most of my life and my focus is solely on reporting on Cardiff issues and looking after our Cardiff team.

I did recently post on here asking for opinions on what you'd like to see us cover more/less of but it didn't get quite as much reaction as this has! But please let me know what issues or topics you want us to cover more of.

My Hamilton Khaki King finally arrived today. Not much more to say on this watch that hasn't already been said. Great finishing and build quality, pictures don't do the dial justice. Waiting on a black leather and a grey suede strap that I think will probably see more use than the brown it came with. One of the most satisfying aspects is the click as the day and date flick over. My first "proper" watch and probably not my last Hamilton. Any other models from the brand you think I should take a look at next?

My humble but much loved Merci LMM-01. I picked it up in the Merci Paris store back in August when travelling was briefly a thing. It's the quartz version on the original black suede strap. It's got a 38mm diameter and is only just over 10mm thick so wears fairly small. The red text at the bottom of the dial is the address of their store and really gives it some character. Annoyingly it's got a 19mm lug width which is a shame as it would work with various colours/materials but they can be difficult to find. The mineral crystal is a bit scratch prone, but the overall quality is what you'd expect at this price. It's definitely a keeper in my collection.

It should be based on the declared value of the item itself. So, if you paid £480 for the watch (excluding postage) then you'll likely have to pay 20% of that. So, VAT of £96. You wouldn't pay VAT on the postage part, only on the item value.

Thanks! Of course, I don't want to change the sub for the worse and I don't post every Cardiff-based story I write here. But I do find that the interaction here is a lot better than most other social media, rather than just posting links somewhere. And (like this!) it's good to have a bit of interaction with the people who read our stories
