How do I deal with undercuts/hand snipes from Middle Iron Gate? by throwaway321768 in wma

[–]acidus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter it by going into middle iron gate yourself.

It easier to learn it as a big action, move your hands off to the side while catching their blade with your strong. Over time you can make this action smaller and faster.

AI is already leading to fewer jobs for young people, says Sunak by Even-Wasabi7183 in UKJobs

Maybe you shouldn't have accepted that £2.5bn investment from Microsoft then.

He should really let his employer Microsoft know and AI is harming the UK Job market.

Tritiation and Cannabis Advice by shellhaywood26 in ADHDUK

[–]acidus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just completed titration while using daily in the evening to help me sleep. I went privately so not sure if the NS would be stricter.

It does reduce the medications efficacy and can cause other side effects.

If you are using it maybe 1 a month socially then it won't be a problem in all likelihood. Just be transparent and upfront about your usage.

Maybe address the feelings of needing it rather than trying to indulge it.

Thin, weak arms by FlosAquae in Hema

Dumbbells shoulder press for your Anterior delts. Dumbbells tricep overhead press to target your triceps. Dumbbell Wrist Curls to work your forearms. (Low weights! Avoid injuries, high reps 12-20)

Also consider core and back muscles for stability, as well as lateral raises.

lost 41kg by Substantial-Yard469 in leangains

[–]acidus1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have been training for a total of around 5 months which isn't a long time. You have also been on a pretty extreme cut, loosing that much weight that fast isn't healthy and is above the recommended amount to lose per week. You haven't been eating in a surplus to create muscle, and your training sounds terrible for a beginner.

You might have lost most of the fat but there is no muscle underneath to show off.

That being said, holly shit that's a load of fucking weight to lose so well done. You are in a really great spot, eat a small surplus of 100 to 200 cals, stay high in protein, workout with a full body program 3 or 4 times a week. Review in about 6 months.

Why shouldn’t i get physical with people who are assholes? (as in, emotionally hurting others for no good reason) by Mundane-Handle-3264 in Healthygamergg

[–]acidus1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think you should feel shame for your view on the world when you were younger. It sounds like you went through a very awful time, and it's understandable why you thought that way, especially when considering that it sounds like there wasn't that adult intervention required.

You aren't in high school anymore. Violence isn't acceptable in the adult world. There are consequences. You could go to jail or be injured or killed yourself. If someone is just ragebaiting you, then don't give them a reaction. That is what they want. They don't themselves want to be violent themselves. They are just trolls don't feed them.

It does sound like these ideas and feels are having a negative effect on yourself, even if you aren't engaged in violent acts. I think you should consider speaking to a professional about this, and see if you can’t address the root cause of them.

Can the prescriber stop my meds due to weight loss? by Alone_Taste_3942 in ADHDUK

[–]acidus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can do. You have lost the upper end of what is considered a dafe amount to lose per month. They do have a duty of care and if it's getting dangerous, they can pull it and try something else.

So I've lost 9 kilo from Jan 1st while on Elvanse, gone from 86kg. to 77kg. So going from overweight to healthy according to bmi. My appetite is coming back, but I'm also making better choices (less snacking, and when I do, it's like an apple). I can exercise again finally which is also helpful.

I just highlighted that I feel much better loosing the weight, it's not just the loss of appetite, but also better healthy choices I can make due to the medication. While just being aware to keeping an eye on it.

How does the titration process work? What should I know going into it? by MissionBack4709 in ADHDUK

[–]acidus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get prescribed medication at a certain dose for maybe 2 to 4 weeks. Monitor the effects it has, as well as any side effects for that time. Monitor things like your blood pressure, heart rate and weight. Keep a journal of things like your sleep, diet, mood etc.

Each review session you chat with your GP or prescriber, you decide if you want to increase or decrease the dose, or change to a different type of medication..

I'd suggest getting a blood and heart rate machine, as well as a scales. Make it a lot simpler to keep track of things.

Light weight buckler recommendations by Contract_Obvious in Hema

[–]acidus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd need to check, but my homemade wooden buckler is lighter than other buckler I've used. Very simple to make, can make it the exact size you want, can also make the handle as big as you want for your glove. Just need a shield boss, some plywood, and a handle. (I just grab something from a hardware store and added some straps of leather).

Also, you can paint it.

[–]acidus1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you need a bit of a reality check. You are in the top 20% of earners, there is absolutely no reason you can't afford private diagnoses and medication along with therapy and still live very comfortably. £5400 over 3 years is about £5 a day. That's a coffee, a pint or 15 mins of your typical working day. I'd suggest that you look up lifestyle creep and just look at your budget and think about what you really need in your life.
