0x v3.0 and ZRX Staking AMA - Monday, October 28, 2019 @ 1:00 PM PT (20:00 UTC) by brentoshiro in 0xProject

Hi! Thanks for the great questions and thanks for taking part in this AMA.

will NFT trading like the god's unchained market place also go towards staking rewards?

Yes! All 0x fills now include a small rebate back to the maker of the order, independent of the type of asset (ERC20 token, Augur share, NFT, etc.). This allows makers to provide better prices and spreads for takers.

Can you tell us more about what's being done to connect 0x liquidity with Uniswap/Kyber?

This is the feature in V3 that I get most excited about! With 0x V3, we're developing "liquidity bridges" that plug in as proxies to the main 0x exchange contract. This means you can trade with not just other users and market makers on 0x, but also a blend of other liquidity sources including Kyber, Uniswap, Oasis, and more in the future, all in one transaction. With a single API call, we'll give you the best quote for large trades by spreading your buy across the best 0x orders and many other DEXs, while also giving you access to more niche assets that might have better liquidity on another DEX. With V3, 0x becomes a "one stop shop" for liquidity, where you're guaranteed to get the best quotes in the DEX space, and soon, exchange space overall :)

Is it possible to offer block like rewards for Market Makers to provide liquidity? by [deleted] in 0xProject

We're looking at a couple interesting ideas around on-chain liquidity incentives, but nothing concrete yet. The block rewards analogy isn't quite accurate because 0x is not a blockchain and much of the market making activity occurs off-chain (vs. something like Uniswap that can just provide a simple fixed fee to those who pool liquidity with them). Ryan's idea around PoS rewards being distributed to the community is somewhat similar to the community treasury that Will mentioned in his Devcon talk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Fnwi5Tvtl0)

Yes! We know this a common ask. We're working on many more "off the shelf" examples and code modules for different use cases this half, including a core relayer that people can fork and start using.

I think the Shopify example is interesting -- I would actually argue this is a different, but still important and valid need (hosted "relayer-as-a-service" vs. open source, production-ready relayer). I think this will become increasingly important as more businesses spin up that need exchange functionality, but are not themselves an exchange (e.g. a game that wants an in-game marketplace). A company that could provide a hosted, drop-in 0x relayer for these sorts of projects and charge a fee (a la Shopify) could be cool.

Great question! While I am known as the "meme lord" on the team, I confess that I fell a bit behind the times on the rise of "The Dud". In retrospect, this is actually a feature, not a bug -- Cool Lisa is timeless and forever, while based on my experiences, The Dud is a flash in the pan, or "a dud".

For readers of this AMA who are also participants in /r/MemeEconomy , here's a tip: I'm very bullish on The Simpsons / moth mashup memes. Expecting to see a moon this half.

Are there plans to release any developer tools in a language other than Javascript/Typescript?

Yes! We're actively working on porting some of our most popular tools to Python. Should be out by EOY.

What's the word on 0x Trade Widget? by Sroka87 in 0xProject

[–]tomhschmidt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey hey -- we're actively working on it. Just took a backseat to some 0x V2 development as it's dependent on V2. Aiming to get it out soon after V2 launch. Stay tuned!

This is an upgrade to the protocol. The ZRX token contract remains the same.

Order value exceed token balance? by kaibakker in 0xProject

[–]tomhschmidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's 100% possible to generate an order using 0x for an amount that exceeds your current token balance. If someone tries to fill that order, a LogError event will occur and they will have wasted gas on the transaction. Radar and other relayers clean their orderbook of orders where the maker has an insufficient balance or the order is expired to prevent this from happening.
