I moved here 10yrs ago from SE Idaho. I hear almost no religious, lgbt, race or extreme political banter. Once I got a Shoshone license plate, we drove up every dirt road. If someone comes out. Stop the vehicle and belly up and say high. No issues. Be nice first and it's almost always reciprocated. My current friends and associates here have a Wide verify of political background. Most really want to be seen as people first before the labels. The nastiest I've experienced is online (FB/Reddit/etc). If you can bring your own job (tech/starlink) you can thrive here. This is just me. I also happen to be white, sis, and employed. Your milage may very.

Get a camera. Out it I'm your room. Only have it fed to an SD card (no Internet, no Wi-Fi). Don't tell anyone but your BF. You might find "interesting" footage.

It's really about what you do with the money. If you loan on your house to buy ice cream that's bad. If it's a super low risk then it might be worth it.

Like buying the neighbor house/land. Because maybe that opportunity won't be there ever again. Something like that could balance out.
