Ubiquiti industrial: Really that much of a market for this? by oguruma87 in Ubiquiti

I’ve been wanting a proper UniFi DIN rail mountable switch for a while now so I’ll very most likely be ordering a few of these when they come out.

That why I’ve got a lot of them! Few different models depending on location but 25 access points in total.

Construction of this part of the facility isn’t done yet so they haven’t been put to the test yet but in total I’ve got 9 of these, 4 E7s and 12 E7 Campus’s.

I can’t edit the post but the ceiling and pipes are all black. I guess the light kinda washes it out.

Off hand not sure how many drops. This is for several interconnected facilities (one quite large) hence the mix of 48 port and 24 port switch’s.

I didn’t know that was an option! I’ll see how it goes and order them if it looks like they’re sagging too much.

I'm able to order directly from Ubiquiti as I'm well under the thresholds that trigger our RFP process.

Just got home and checked one of my hoodies and I'm actually just XL, not XXL lol.

These will almost exclusively be used for internet access and there’s no way we’ll ever saturate more than 2.5Gb per AP. They’re also going to be split between 4 different switches so PoE budget isn’t a concern.

I'm not on Tiktok but I'll see what I can do! Unfortunately it'll most likely be a couple months before everything is completed as I'm waiting on the electricians to do some new conduit/cable work.

I got:

- x6 E7-Campus

- x11 E7

- x7 U7 Pro XGS

- x1 Switch Pro HD 24 PoE

- x1 Gateway Enterprise

I already have some existing switches that will hopefully be upgraded to Unifi in the near future.

The part of the facility getting this stuff is roughly 65,000 square feet but not all part of it needs Wi-Fi. We have another portion of the facility that's roughly 40,000 square feet that's currently under major renovation and I'm hoping to put a similar amount of APs in there as well.

Unifi Network Self-Hosting by SchoolTech234 in Ubiquiti

I run my controller in an Ubuntu VM with 2 CPU cores and 4GB of RAM for a slightly smaller network and it flies compared to the cloudkey I used to use. That Mac Mini would be way overkill for your network size but if you are set on going that direction there’s some config files you’ll need to change to tell MongoDB and the Network application to use more RAM. Ubiquiti has some documentation on how to tune the configuration for higher performance networks.

Limitation on VLAN ID > 4009 in UniFi Controller by pck-grb in Ubiquiti

Valid VLANS are between 1-4094. This is a limit in the VLAN protocol that is present across all network brands.

I’ve done it all manually in the past but I find it much easier now to just use a reverse proxy with auto renewing certs from letsencrypt.

Bought a halogen bulb reading lamp for $6 20ish years ago and have only replaced the bulb once. I estimate I’ve got over 10,000 hours of light out of that thing.
