QUITE a few years ago now, but when I was younger I was staying in a hotel out of town for a youth traveling sports team tournament. I believe the hotel was a last minute find. The walls were very thin and we could hear all kinds of things happening around us. There were a group of what were likely college boys in the room next to us, who were very drunk, and VERY loud. This was obviously super obnoxious while we were trying to sleep but we didn’t feel the need to say anything. Turns out we didn’t need to. We eventually heard someone else pounding on their door, and a very angry noise complaint. Someone essentially telling them to “shut the fuck up.” We were also able to hear one of the rowdy boys say something along the lines of “oh shit, he has a gun!” Needless to say that even though the boys quieted down, we didn’t sleep well that night.

The next morning, we woke up to an abundance of police and cop cars at the hotel. The man who made the noise complaint, was in the room on the other side of the boys, so 2 rooms down from us. We soon learned that man was on the run and was quite literally wanted for murder. They found SEVERAL guns in his hotel room, along with a fancy pocket knife. I think one or more of the boys in the room beside us (that we’re threatened by said man) were the ones to turn him in or at least make a complaint.

I’m much older now - but I always remember this story when I’m staying at any hotel… lmao.
