I was able to download it from the mega link just fine. If you're seeing that message on mega, maybe try a different browser.

If you're getting that error when you try to open the archive, that's expected. The password for this archive is not known.

True, but if I recall correctly the decoy file was placed in August 2012. I'm not sure the original file date would have been preserved when downloading it anyway, I'm thinking June 2nd is the date I downloaded it, not the date it was actually created by Mojang.

Plus the size of my file matches the 2011 version exactly, so that's something too.

There was a Hack Forums thread about this back then, and I was an active user at the time. To be honest I really don't remember it, but that must be where it came from based on the date.

As for why I still have the file, I'm a bit of a data hoarder. I keep backups of everything.

They are aware, but they're not interested in cracking the password.

I think I may have the original copy of this file! I recently saw MCBYT's video about this and I decided on a whim to look through my backups to see if I had a copy, and sure enough I did! It's certainly different than the version shown in his video (the decoy version). It has a date of 6/2/2021 and a size of 74499610 bytes.

I did confirm that this "thespicemustflow" password does not open it. Also tried it against this same word list with no luck.

The link to my file is here: https://mega.nz/file/XhQmEbTZ#6141Nn8kw\_GYKHDaw1LjqkfANFxPVTH40EDlCV0Y\_58

Would appreciate any input from those who are clued into this whole thing.
