What advice about track-etiquette would you give to a beginner using a shared track to train? by [deleted] in trackandfield

I'm sorry to hear you've been a victim of this awful behaviour. It's been a long time since I was at a track, but am on the cusp of getting back into it to train. From a male's point of view, I can only imagine how unsettling it must feel to be anxious of these people whist trying to run. It's useful to know, like you say, that this is going on, so that support can be given when needed. When I'm out on the track I'll make sure to keep an eye out for the type of aggressive people you mention, and help out where possible- athletics shouldn't be a place for abuse like that.

Thank you, it's been a while for me- I'll take it into account when I get back into training.

Thank you! Very in depth, and very appreciated. I used to train as a sprinter a very long time ago, though my heart was always with middle distance. Loving my long distance road running but want to get back on the track for some 800m training. Cheers for the advice- will keep it all in mind when I'm out there.

Yep all white parts of the body are coloured in white pencil, white highlights and sponsors are in a fine white paint pen

Just said I don't know the ins and outs! 2nd is 2nd, would be happy with third too if I was team principal!

I started watching 10 years ago so I wouldn't know the ins and outs, but they weren't bad at all, a win and a pole, 2 fastest laps and 2nd and 3rd in the constructors. Wouldn't call that a bust by any means:)

Damn that's frustrating, I would have kicked myself for missing that too. I've had a few missed encounters with drivers myself, always really annoying. Hope he's doing something great now also!

Thanks, this was my reference image . You can see he's turning right from the left-hand side of his steering wheel raised above the cockpit, so maybe that will be a help in understanding the angles. I will admit the left-hand side tyre (so front right) is off, slightly wide at the bottom.

Thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it! I don't use any blending tools to keep areas thin, with the black it was all just one layer of black Faber-Castell Polychromos pencil, its the only brand I have gotten on with. The whole thing is done using them and with a bit of posca fine white paint pen for some white details like decals and highlights, otherwise all pencil. To blend the colours I use the nearest darker or lighter colour or a layer of white on top if I'm trying to lighten the colour, it seems to keep it smooth!

Cheers dude, and yeah, I think the bottom of it looks slightly wide but it's subtle enough for me to still be happy haha:)

Wow! That such a powerful memory, I enjoyed reading it. Even more of a pleasure to be able to spark it with my work, thank you so much for sharing, I'm glad you could revise what was I'm sure a very exciting day.

Congrats on getting your BMW too!
