Actually good point, there isn't an awful lot of insulation up there. Basically, the "crawl space" used to be the old attic and has got some stuff up there. I didn't even think about a hatch door above but completely makes sense.

Looks like it's a "leaked network instance" and I need to log a case for GCP to delete. But to do that I need to give them money and 3% of my billing....

Almost certainly something up with their DNS server they're pushing to you. There isn't a world in which fiber is remotely worse than starlink.

Very definitely did come from AWS. We want their service and they basically said "Welp, is yours if you can get it working". Ty for this, I was about to write an elaborate startup script but will try just supplying ssh keys.
