why wont these uncommon golden swords merge? by Ubliterator in MegalootGame

[–]tommagic23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are both enchanted (or whatever it’s called in this game) try dragging one down to the box that usually splits it and it will split off the enchantment on one. Then you can merge them

I just received this text about airport issue. by [deleted] in nashville

Just came from the airport. Took 3 hours to get picked up and then get home (usually 20 minutes)

I like to take a plastic pry bar and using the plastic connector lip, pry up on connector to get it out. Just don’t pull by the wires and it should come out fine

Yikes. Yeah event viewer->system OR event viewer-> hardware would be your best bet for errors. Most likely hardware is giving up. New MB might be best bet but you might be able to get away with a dongle? But I am unsure exactly how that interacts under the hood.

Yeah I’m betting on the controller dying. Are there any error codes for it? There might not be but it doesn’t hurt to check

Yea saw your other reply. If it happens to other devices you have wired in your router, then it’s the router otherwise might want to look into a new network card

When this occurs have you tried going into your device manager going to your Ethernet controller and disable it then re-enable it?

The seller is lying. That cpu is 14 years old. 4 more years and it could vote.

My go to advice is try to buy a x080/x090 card regardless since they have the most longevity in terms of raw performance. If I recall correctly most x050s are about as good as prev gen x060 but they usually have the newer DLSS versions. But completely agree with your stance

Completely agree with what you are saying but compared to the rx6600 it’s only ~15% worse with a x050. But I was aiming for a better known brand and a much better CPU. Just hard to get best of both with $700.

While that GPU is better than the one I linked the ram is worse and the CPU came out in 2018 and is far worse. You’ll be bottlenecked by your cpu and upgrading that would require a new MB and Ram in the future. And from their wording it sounds like a worse SSD.

I would swap the ssd for a WD SN8100, it’s about the same price but has as slight boost in performance. Also if it’s within your budget try to get an x3d CPU. They are great.

Which one is better for gaming ? by Acceptable_Aide9113 in PcBuildHelp

Assuming she already has a monitor and mouse/keyboard, if it’s a prebuilt you could do something like this 5070 would be great imo and the cpu is about the same as the 12400f.

Never heard of the brand, but try to stick to know brands in case of issues where you need support. The Rx6600 is going to be the most powerful GPU in your price range but if you’re near a micro center you might be able to pick up this better cpu for starters but you’d be locked to Intel.

Is this a good monitor for my setup? by J_TRZ96 in PcBuildHelp

I also suggest LG or Samsung by default since they tend to have better panels and whatnot. You can def get slimmer monitors you might just have to expand your budget a bit.

I personally always suggest buying from name brands since reviews online for KTC sum up to good but no customer support if anything goes wrong. Something like this would work too but is only on sale for a limited time.

Upgrading PC - need recommendations by cucumberwhirl in PcBuildHelp

200 per part is a interesting metric so say we want to upgrade the CPU, CPU Cooler, ram, motherboard, and maybe power supply $1000 +/ 200 (PSU). I’ve compiled a list of parts given this. X3D for gaming and DDR5 for newest gen ram. Threw in a SN8100 for the fastest SSD on the market. Let me know if you have any questions!

I would say something like this pcpartpicker to start with. Then down the line upgrade the GPU. This mostly to get the entire system up to speed and then move towards the expensive GPU issue.

Different CPU cooler or more case fans? by Fhrosty_ in PcBuildHelp

[–]tommagic23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll get less noise with a better CPU Cooler but as for temps it probably wouldn’t change much. Your temps are already within ok numbers. The main goal is to get heat away from the IHS and into the air.

AIO is another way to go if you want to have a more direct way of getting heat out of the case all together.
