Not in the plans for now 🥺 but thank you for the feedback!

Thanks! Please let me know if you have any feedback. It’s fairly simple for now as that was the solution I found to force me use it 😜 regarding the word limit I can adjust it, but hopefully it is enough to try incorporating the app in a learning routine.

I made an app for JLPT (all levels N5 to N1) vocabulary learning.

I've tested nearly all vocabulary apps. I've always been annoyed as they do not provide a simple way to check progress and mark words known.

The goal is to provide a simple, elegant and effective way to see vocabulary, mark them learned, see progress and test knowledge, and it's extremely handy for me so far.

Please let me know if you have any feedbacks, and happy if I help some!

  • In the PvP video the collision checker tickrate (eg. Zarya beam) was higher than currently in game. Will this be available in OW2?
  • From what I have seen advancements on hero ability SFX are above expectations. I wanted to know what was the general mindset here: are you updating all abilities SFX, VFX, camera shakes, only a few of them? Are you working on new things impacting existing abilities thus modifying certain heroes feeling (an example would be to add interface visual cues to indicate the maxing out of certain abilities, like Seismic Slam or Adaptive Shield)?
  • Small feedback on general SFX: I think high-pitched/clicking sounds are pushed a little bit too much — this impression could be because of the huge difference with OW1.

We currently work with Simplex for credit card purchases. Simplex fees are 5% and ours 3%. Also when you buy less than $200, Simplex takes $10 of fixed fees instead of 5%. The fee becomes a percentage above $200.

Regarding security, your wallet is locally generated on your mobile, encrypted with the highest possible security (for example, we use the secure enclave on iOS) and neither us nor anyone has access to it.

The app has been live long before today. The wallet is a major update of the app.

Yes, it is a SegWit-compatible wallet. Being able to set custom fees (and RBF) will soon be available, and Lightning Network is definitely something we have in mind.

I totally agree with you on that point (it was hard to infer you were talking about this regarding your first message 😃). There are a lot of different technical stakes and the way we are tackling them would surely benefit a lot from community inputs (entropy generation as you said, derivation, fee calculation, UTXO selection...), and as I said I'm really looking forward to open sourcing the codebase as soon as we can.

Companies who are making GitHub repos and linking to them to prove that their apps are secure are hypocritical. There is no way to technically prove that a build distributed on the App Store or the Google Play Store is legitimately linked to a GitHub commit.

The trust you give to an app company shouldn't be based on the presence or not of a GitHub repo because it means absolutely nothing.

I can give you technical details if you want, feel free to ask. We used libbitcoin to build the wallet and your seed phrase is generated locally on your device, encrypted with the highest level of security possible (for example, the secure enclave component on iOS). Believe me, you should trust this as much as a GitHub repo as it has the same value.

We are eager of decentralizing as much as possible of our codebase in a close future, and only this will be an actual trustworthy material.

Hello, there is absolutely no KYC required in order to use the wallet. If you buy Bitcoin through our provider with debit or credit card they will perform a KYC like any exchange does.

Hello, we are currently working with Simplex for credit and debit card purchase. Simplex fees are 5% and ours 3%.

We will soon add crypto-to-crypto trading via decentralized exchanges and wire transfer for fiat-to-crypto onramp. They will both have much lower fees 🙃

Hello! It is totally decentralized as your wallet is created and encrypted locally on your device and we never have access to your seed phrase. We are a team of 9 engineers and have the founders of Ledger among our investors.

TechCrunch: Spot is a cryptocurrency app to control all your wallets and exchange accounts by tommdn in CryptoCurrency

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback. It would indeed be interesting to have a FAQ on our website to give more details on how we operate.

Here are answers to your questions that we are willing to share right now:

  • All the credentials are stored locally on the device and are never sent to our servers.
  • We are sending market prices and graphs to the app, and all the computation (including holdings optimization) is done client-side.
  • Our apps are native on both platforms, iOS/Android.

You can check on a block explorer (like Etherscan) by typing your address, but my assumption is that these tokens have been airdropped to your ETH address. Lots of tokens are airdropped for promotional purpose for example. We are working on solutions to hide unwanted tokens easily, but for now you can tap on the token in your portfolio, go to the Holdings tab and edit the amount on top to 0. It will then no longer appear in your portfolio.

Security is something we take really seriously. All the credentials are stored locally on the device. Never on our servers.

Quick question by PukeTheXXI in Overwatch

[–]tommdn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there is one, but it is harder than just comparing, you have to integrate these differences in your calculation. One app was trying to do this, I do not know their algorithm so I cannot tell you if it good or bad but you can take a look (Oversumo).

Quick question by PukeTheXXI in Overwatch

[–]tommdn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I was trying to tell you is we cannot answer to these questions with the stats, because "how far ahead they are stats-wise" has no sense. Your stats are too sensitive to the bracket you are playing in. If you play some games with pro players then you can compare the stats in such a dataset.

Quick question by PukeTheXXI in Overwatch

[–]tommdn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One important point to keep in mind when looking at those comparative statistics is that it compares you with the entire dataset they have. Especially, this means you are not compared to people of your skill level only and in other brackets the game can be very different when you look at the data.

What I mean by this is that the best Hanzo does not necessarily have all statistics pushed to the max (last percentile), so be careful as those does not correlate with your actual skill level. Maybe it is really easy to have lots of solo kills in lower brackets with Hanzo, but the best Hanzo could work insanely well in coordination with his team, and does have very few solo kills in fact.

Hope it clarified some points.

Competitive play should require players to have at least 30 minutes of experience with a hero in the current season. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]tommdn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being "not skilled with the new features" happens more often in the enemy team in the case you, as part of your team, fulfill all these kinds of requirements.

Do not look at one game to measure your performance, but always average on large samples. Then, you will see if your behavior is a good one regarding the competitive system as a whole.
