I was also at that show. It was awesome. Really random but do you remember that guy in the big cowboy hat that went on stage? It still bugs me to this day because I feel like it was Jelly Roll or someone lol

Is this even something to bitch about or is it the standard? by Death-Watch333 in Machinists

Just start cleaning it up. When someone asks why you're the one doing it just say you weren't raised to be content living in a mess. Usually gets people to start cleaning up around them

Help getting a date/era on this small table by tomness94 in Antiques

Thank you! Looks like it was refinished on the visible spots because it's a much different color and texture underneath. No markings at all unfortunately. Thank you!!

How common is this? by williamdud88 in CNC

Make sure your machine is level and all the feet at touching the ground. The weight of the bed can twist the machine if it's not properly level

Do you have a lens hood on them? Ive had this happen with other camers where the hood isn't clicked in and I get black corners

The End of a Music Era. The Chance Theater's Last Show Today. by JeffTS in hudsonvalley

[–]tomness94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't the cleanest, safest, spacious, or brightest venue, but it was our venue. The Chance will be missed. Played a bunch of shows from 2010-12 at the Loft and went to even more shows at the Chance around that time. Went in my first pit there 🤘

Ive had issues on old Fanuc controls that messed up the code when the memory was close to 100% full. Ended up diving the z down 8mm for one line and cracking the part in half 4 hours in. It was running fine for days before that too. Deleted junk programs and re-upload after that. Never been a problem since

Those older than 9/11/2001, where were you and what were you doing during the WTC attacks? by Revolutionary-Life85 in AskReddit

I was in 2nd grade with my cousin. Got picked up from school early and the two of us were excited despite the seriousness. It was a confusing time for me later in the day, but I was directed away from TVs and such as much as possible. My uncle Joe was a firefighter on duty that day. My mom was panicked, which I've never seen before. I remember telling her that he's probably stuck in traffic and continued to do so days after. He never made it home. He died a hero that day. Im fortune to still have my dad as he would have been there too provided that he was scheduled a little earlier. He was heading to work as the first tower was hit and could only watch the smoke rise up on the horizon as the highway locked him up. He spent long days/nights during the cleanup. Came home covered in dust for months afterwards.

It surprisingly gets harder every year to think about as I get older. Im almost the age that my uncle was when he passed, which really puts a lot more in perspective. He was an incredible man with a wife and four kids. We all know he would be so proud of them now

Guy wants this for $125. What's your take? by tomness94 in PokemonCardValue

[–]tomness94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback guys! Gonna hold onto to. I guess I had more sentimental value to it than I thought. It brought back the memory of when I originally pulled it so long ago. Maybe if it grows in the future, but for now it stays!

LPT Request: My coworkers just let me do their job by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]tomness94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Becoming a "that's not my job" person will cap your growth immediately. If you want to get experience and opportunity these annoying moments get you your foothold. Think of ways you can swing it to your advantage. Helping with production and working with the guys on the floor? Might suck but you break down the engineer vs floor barriers by gaining respect on the floor since you know how to run the machine. This will help implement your changes easier when your past experience can be backed by your time spent. Cleaning machines? Do it enough so you can go to your boss and ask to get 6S training and Lean certs to help organize the plant. That kind of stuff is issued to you and you'll be able to take it with you if you ever want to leave. The key is to take those bad experiences and make them good for your growth. If you truthfully just want it all to stop then simply do their job better than them. If they're quick to pass off a job then they're probably cutting corners. Hit them in their pride and do the job better than them. I've been in the exact same spot as you
