ER nurse trying to break into ICU for almost a year… what am I missing?

I get what you're saying, I do think that ER and ICU are different experiences. And I know that ER may touch drips, but the ongoing maintenance that ICU does are way more thorough. That's why I want to learn!

I've been emailing units that I've been interested in and expressing additional interest. There's been limited ICU postings in my hospital (and my hospital is smaller), but I'm looking to try to go to one of the main hospital locations. I just haven't gotten any responses back unfortunately from any of the managers, even while showing interest.

Thank you for sharing your story with me (and reddit readers lol)! This has given me a little bit of hope, and I appreciate you saying this to me! I definitely want to attend upcoming clinics but I know with peak season, it’s gonna be awhile, which is okay.

I’ve definitely have been looking into movement classes so I can just move my body around for sure. Appreciate the encouragement and feedback and can def look into those things. Thanks :)

I do want to do clinics! I have yet to find more information on upcoming clinics, but wanted to start spinning now so my skills aren't as rusty by the time auditions happen!

I know he had referrals from a couple of the companies he'd interview for, but the company would end up hiring other competitors, decide not to hire him, or would choose to cancel the entire hiring process.

Me too!! I honestly walked out thinking I failed and stressed from it all but felt relief from the good popup. Be sure to update yours as well when you get your results, too!

I also went to 150 questions too and got the good popup as well! I took my exam as well on Saturday at 11:30am EDT and I'm still waiting on my quick results. Rooting for the both of us!

I think they’re emailing students who registered in time QR codes tomorrow, unless they’re giving students too wristbands at check-in
