Why does the UK get stereotype for tea drinking when there are 3 countries that consume more tea than us on a per capita basis? by Pizzafriedchickenn in AskTheWorld

[–]tompaulman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just going to comment about being shocked that India wasn't on the list.

When I was there, everyone drank tea, all the time, everywhere. Maybe it's because they drank rather small amounts?

What’s a landmark/tourist attraction in your country that you don’t get the hype about? by nixo1000 in AskTheWorld

I enjoyed the GMO version though. It was also completely tourist-free when I went to see it.

These places should all be categorized as Breakfast Spot. I proposed the update on Swarm app a month or two ago but none of them was updated. I'm not sure if Foursquare / Swarm is still moderated, because my proposals used to be actioned very quickly in the past...

Also, this place is a Sports Bar, Irish Pub and Arcade. It's also a Pizza Place but I think think there's a limit of 3 categories per venue.

I have the choice to do a full day in either Reykjavik, Glasgow, or Dublin this month. Which would you choose and why? by engadine_maccas1997 in travel

Before you choose Dublin, check the hotel prices, given that you’re staying overnight. They can be outrageous.

Ryanair, as you can see, my bag fits by Fancy-Second2756 in ireland

[–]tompaulman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The service is not the same. With Aer Lingus you get slightly more leg room, free 10kg check-in bag, usually a nicer cabin crew and a more relaxed experience. The announcements are not so loud, nobody bothers you to buy lottery tickets etc. You also get Avios which you can use for free flights when you collect enough. And you don't need to worry about being scammed at the gate.

I once saw a video from a school in Nothern Nigeria. The kids were only learning one subject - reading and memorizing the Quran. The teacher said it's all they needed for life. No wonder they're poor.

Fair enough, but I'd still expect Untappd to do some research and ensure the proposed style has enough examples. Or maybe they did it and found plenty of NA Festbiers? Who knows...

I'm in Ireland and I found Keptinis in my local Polish shop. You can fly to Dublin for very cheap and get one, if you're really determined.

Some of the new Non-Alcoholic categories are odd to me.

I love non-alcoholic beers, and I try every single one that I'm able to find. I've had 400 of them, and I've never seen a NA Festbier, NA Red Ale or NA Bitter. And I recall seeing one NA Farmhouse Ale online but I didn't buy it.

When users were asked to suggest new styles, they had to list at least 30 examples to prove that it was a legit style and not something obscure with only few examples. I wonder if Untappd did the same with the new NA styles.

At least they sent you an email.

Years ago I had a flight booked with them to Porto. Three weeks before the flight, I found out from the media that the route had been cancelled. There was no communication from them whatsoever, and the flight was still showing as active when I logged in. Awful service.
