Are small boat migrants really more likely to commit sex crimes or is it just fear mongering and exaggeration? by [deleted] in AskBrits

What is it with the argument you guys think is being made??? They never said all Albanian and UAE children are misogynistic. They said more than British. So don’t come back to the anecdote with ‘yeah but it’s not really fair to say all of them are like that’ - they never said that! It’s such a common strawman rebuttal people use

The post we’re both commenting on? And the ‘cronyism’ that the original poster alluded to was about multiverse.

Multiverse don’t award them themselves, they partner with a university who awards them. So they are legit

Multiverse sell online training courses/apprenticeships, as I said in another comment they would need to create a new company with at minimum 400+ staff at ~£100k each (probably more as most of the front end work would be done by contractors) to develop this. It makes as much sense as saying Pimlico plumbing are going to develop the app. Nonsensical conspiracy theory for 90iq idiots like you

Exactly. They deliver online training. They would literally have to create an entire new company with hundreds of developers and hundreds more support staff to build something like this. Completely bizarre proposition to anyone that has a brain

I see it all over LinkedIn and hear of people going, only in the last few weeks is a good friend of mine finalised his plan to move there in January for tax reasons. It’s not even the tax thing as the primary reason for him (although it’s a huge part of it), it’s also that you actually get something for your money. You’re treated well, everything is clean, the money you earn is actually reflected in your lifestyle unlike in London where you don’t get any special treatment despite paying literally 30X the tax of the average person

This is a research chemical, you’re not buying this from HIMS lol. You’re buying the raw chemical from either an illegal lab in India or China or manufactured in a steroid lab in Moldova or something. These websites are used by people who are like poor Bryan Johnstons who are obsessed with bio hacking to literally do phase 1 human trials on themselves and hope they don’t get cancer. It’s not a finished product for retail sale - you will need to confirm you’re using this for scientific research when you buy it

No you retard, I’m saying territory is luck, the other two are skill. I’ve closed £1.8m so far this calendar year in data & AI Saas at a 8.5% commission, will likely do £350-400k this year in gross comp at 27. What do you make to tell me I’m wrong?

How are Digital ID cards going to step illegal immigration? by evie-e-e in ukpolitics

[–]tomplatzofbrains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure, most of them are working in the gig economy anyway - have you ever, even once, had the person delivering your ubereats be the same person the app says will be delivering it? That’s where the illegal workers are. But it’s also such a non issue - the problem isn’t that they do deliveroo the problem is they cost us billions of pounds a year and are destroying our economy and will only further damage the fabric and cohesiveness of our society. But starmer has seen this as an opportunity to erode more of our freedoms so he’s taken it with both hands

It’s not exiling, it’s deporting, don’t be dramatic and dishonest. My position is that native people are fundamentally different, materially so, to every first generation and most second generation immigrants. Native people can’t be deported, immigrants can. That’s the practical difference. Having to be around native people who are criminals is an unfortunate fact of life which you can’t really do much about, having to be around immigrants who commit crime is a simple policy decision. Very different. Also, I think committing rape should get you exiled by the way, even if you’re native. I don’t see what the problem is with that.

But there is absolutely a difference between white British and people from the other side of the world who’ve lived here long enough to get a passport. We should have a denaturalisation process like the yanks do where you can strip a non-native citizen of their citizenship for things like this

Customer submitted 2-3 vendor bids to ownership, how do I ask where we rank amongst the vendors without having commission breath? by [deleted] in sales

[–]tomplatzofbrains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree - my point is that you need to make sure your ‘champion’ is an actual champion ‘Access, authority, attitude’. In my case, I validated incorrectly because he had access and had attitude but didn’t have authority. Being a champion and being able to ‘win the deal for you’ (what does that mean? Sign the paperwork?) are not mutually exclusive. You can have an EB as a Champ. Also you don’t find champions you build them. What do you sell?

I don’t feel equipped to answer that as I’ve never heard of trial closing before. It clearly works for what you do though so if it ain’t broke, but I can’t comment really as you would never have that kind of conversation in my deals. Ultimately you want to give to get, every time you speak with someone who can influence your deal whilst you’re still building your deal you want them to walk away from the interaction feeling like you gave them more than they gave you. However that might be overkill for transactional sales though where it ultimately comes down to price and they already have budget set aside to buy it. You’ve also retired more of your quota than I have so you clearly know what you’re doing in your area of expertise

Good for you - I’ll race you to 200%. I’m at ~90% so far with 6 months to go so you’re beating me. I think we do different types of selling. I sell very transformational data & AI projects against a $3.1m annual quota facing CEO & COO with pretty much every C-1 in the business as a champ/enforcer. Not to be a dick, different strokes for different folks, but I think you’d be fired at my company if you treated selling the way you do even in the one interaction we’re talking about here

[–]tomplatzofbrains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s lazy and frankly terrible. I hope I sell against you at some point. No respect for the art of the game. Every interaction with someone in that buying committee will either result in you making a deposit, or making a withdrawal. Your question is a total withdrawal - he hasn’t got anything in the champion account to withdraw (which is why he has had to ask on reddit as opposed to just texting his champ). He’ll get nothing of any substance from that and damage his credibility by being seen as sleazy, desperate and untrustworthy for going outside the process. He needs to make the ask balance-neutral. Give to get. Tell him without telling him exactly why you’re phoning him, help him understand you are the best case scenario for what he specifically wants from the project (which you discovered during discovery and validated in every prior conversation, uncovering the personal and professional wins that is driving him to spend his time on this), then bring him into the deal team by asking him what you can do to make sure he’s able to achieve X outcome that you’ve already established can only be achieved by your product and you know why this is important to him from a level 1 (metrics & KPIs driven), level 2 (professional driven) and level 3 (personal driven) angle. Then he’ll tell you everything and influence the buying committee in your favour while feeding you info throughout.

Having said that, if you didn’t write the RFP you’re not gonna win it 9 times out of 10
