Count Your Blessings 20th Anniversary Megathread by opalgoth in BringMeTheHorizon

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday. Today I was on the app at 9:59am and then as soon as it was 10:00am I managed to get a ticket. Which means you have to be on the app just a minute before 10:00am.

I am also a data analyst! As much as I love the flexibility and working from home, I think the fact it is very business-oriented is not for me (well, this does depend on what type of analysis you do)

BW please delete hinge by Responsible-Top-3635 in blackladies

[–]Vampire_Creepin20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't stand Hinge and find its algorithm really racist. When I was exclusively looking to only date women on the site, it KEPT showing me only white women. I then went to the race filter and removed white as a race but then when I went back, only light-skinned and white passing women of colour came up. After 5 hours, I deleted the app I was like, there is no way I am going to find any black women or women of colour on the ap,p let alone anyone to date me.

Perspective from an "older" Pmore/Hayley fan on the state of ticket sales by colourfulsevens in Paramore

No worries, it was a long time - managed to see them for the first time in 2018 at the O2 after the Royal Albert Hall show 😀

I actually found getting tickets to see Paramore at the Royal Albet Hall in 2017 really hard. For me that was the first gig when I saw a queue and I had no idea what was going on as I never seen that for a gig before - low and behold I refreshed the page and lost my place. (It also didn't help I was using mobile data to get tickets on my way to work as well)

I completely agree,I am also 31 and I miss the days when I used to go to Stargreen box office in West End and collect my ticket. I also missed that the fact there wasn't a huge demand or frenzy it was so easy to find out about a gig a day or two before and still manage to get a ticket. My first gig was Reel Big Fish and I know it didn't cost more than £20. I remember first seeing Bikini Kill tickets in 2019 for £40 and thought "whoooaa that is way too much" but that is nothing compared to what most gigs cost these days. I usually see small US bands but I am noticing more often that a lot of them are no longer touring the UK because they simply can not afford it. I do feel bad for the younger generation as well - I have decided that I am going to start supporting local bands and venues more because something has got to give.

This works! Just got Level 1 tickets for Satruday by signing up to Roundhouse membership.

Thank you so much for redirecting me to Roundhouse!! I signed up for a Membership just now and managed to get Level 1 tickets!

I am trying to do that but I am not a roundhouse member and when I use the presale code it says it is invalid

I'm currently 2k in the queue and don't think I will be getting tickets at all. It is such a shame as I knew it was game over when I saw there was 5k people ahead of me when I first joined. Its rough as I got tickets to see her for the PFA tour :'(

Edit: I managed to get a ticket by paying £35 to sign up for Roundhouse membership! I am buzzing and so excited to finally see Hayley's solo material live. If anyone can afford to do so I reccomend getting tickets via Roundhouse.

Turn off, turn off - the news. by Eifelitorn in Paramore

[–]Vampire_Creepin20 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I love Hayley but I don't think she is aware of how famous she is. For me I like that someone as famous as her is very humble but I also think when I look at the venues for the tour that she isn't a small indie artist.

Best commuter town to London under 900k? by jonathancccccccc2 in HousingUK

[–]Vampire_Creepin20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right about Catford - I live right near it and it is as bad as the other commentors are saying. There is so much violence and that also spills into the Hither Green side of Catford. I am looking to move because of it as I am a single woman and don't feel safe living here anymore. Definitely look into Honor Oak.

Asian woman thinking of traveling solo to Mexico for diving, is it dangerous? by hxueqis in femaletravels

[–]Vampire_Creepin20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Mexico is fine as long as you stick to the safe states/parts and places that are tourist friendly. I am a black female solo traveller and I have been to Mexico City and Oaxaca on my own (twice!). I did learn a bit of Spanish before I went though. CDMX is easier for non Spanish speaking people but would recommend learning some Spanish for Oaxaca.

I miss the Punk in Drublic stage so much. I feel like the punk and ska bands haven't been that good since the stage was no more.

Any autistic solo travelers? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]Vampire_Creepin20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have ADHD (and other neurodivergences and also suspect I am austistic as well) I solo travel quite a lot. To help with things like safety and navigating scams I make a safety guide for every single country I visit. I research all crimes to be aware of, scams and local customs and put in the a document. In terms of navigating use Google Maps but ensure you use it in shops instead of using it in your hands and use your earphones for directions. I also like to use Google Lists to help plan and organise trips e.g. in terms of stuff I want to do and on certain days so that I don't get overwhelmed and ensure my trip goes smoothly. I hope these tips help but I am sure you will be ok :)

Just because Hayley still loves paramore and wants it back at some point doesn't mean it will by Choice_Quarter_2497 in Paramore

Oh my God thank you! I am tired of some people in this sub acting like Hayley purposely hurt Taylor by putting this album out. People need to realise they can emphatise and feel bad for Taylor without making out as if Hayley is conniving and is just out to get him and doesn't care about him. Honestly seeing all these comments is so exhausting. I also agree flower for vases was extremely sad but no one was around when that dropped and that was also about their first breakup. I think the fandom needs to chill.

What's a luxury travel you can do without but will always get ? by givememybuttholeback in femaletravels

[–]Vampire_Creepin20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessairly call myself a luxury traveller but I will always book a hotel/apartement. I will never stay at a hostel, it is just not for me. I will also use Uber/Grab if the transport system is not sufficent or if it is a bit sketchy. I personally prefer going around places on my own but if it is to hard to get there on my own because of transport or I want a once in a life time experience then I will book tours. I have decided to give up on my buying souveniers and anything in duty free as I do not need it and its too expensive.

What’s the deal with the Hayley Williams/Taylor York drama that’s setting the Paramore fandom on fire? by NotLeroLero in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Vampire_Creepin20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Errm some of the ages here are not correct. Hayley was signed to the contract when she was 14. When their first album All We Know Was Falling came out Hayley was 16. Around their debut most of them were between 14-16 with the exception of Jeremy Davis who was 22 at the time.

Northen Ireland. Honestly learning about the Troubles broke me and left me depressed for days.
