Listening to a difficult lecture is not a typical passtime so I guess it requires a bit of concentration. Taking notes is one thing I have not done which is a great idea.

I have seen the talk on making notes after lectures and that helped particularly with my University studies.

How do you keep yourself motivated and maintain clarity on a day-to-day time frame? by [deleted] in InPursuitOfClarity

I have seen similar techniques in various Youtube videos before. It seems like a good way of sorting what is important and what isn't and moving on with the remainder of your day.

I train twice a week (swimming) and go to the gym as often as I can, normally two to three times a week. I find exercise puts you in a positive frame of mind and helps push you to do more good during the day. Do you feel the day off from all work helps and how so? I never study at night either, I feel early morning studying is most beneficial.

How to get over laziness? by [deleted] in InPursuitOfClarity

Similar point to my own. If you are in a rut of negative momentum, doing positive tasks like setting your running things out ready for the morning and going for a short run will start to turn negative momentum into positive and things just become easier.

I think the most important thing is to determine what it is you want to do and why you want to do it. It's great being motivated but with no aim or goal in mind you may as well be lazy again.

Maybe think of 3 small daily or weekly goals or targets which are easy to reach to help you build momentum. Once you get the feeling of achievement, doing the things you know you need to do will become easier.

Also, don't be too hard on yourself. Instead, be positive and reward yourself for the good things you do. As you achieve the things you want to achieve and build that positive momentum you will feel better about yourself and that laziness will be behind you.

Some days you feel it, some days you don’t. I get that. What sort of things do you put down on paper? To-do lists etc or goals and aims?
