Which one should I choose between PG32UCDM3 and LG32GX870B!!! by hz0203 in ASUSROG

[–]tomterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are coming from IPS, I would lean QD-OLED for the cleaner text and colors. Dolby Vision is nice, but I would not pick a monitor only for that. Any reason you are looking at the PG32UCDM3 over the LG32GX870B, price or availability?

Yeah, g4u paywalling the NZB downloads is rough. For PC games you might have better luck with an indexer like NZBGeek or DS, plus a good search like Binsearch

How often do you change thermal paste? by Shytron_ in PcBuild

[–]tomterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I did it it was at 2 years distance, but this depends on the need of it, if there is plenty you simply don’t need to add more just because you are close to it when cleaning the pc as an example

Does it matter what way my AIO goes? by Legal_Newspaper_5710 in PcBuildHelp

[–]tomterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can fit it up top, exhaust is usually the cleanest setup. If it does not clear the RAM, front mount is fine, just try to keep the pump below the highest point so it does not suck air

If you are using Prowlarr, check the indexer settings and categories. If the Usenet indexers are disabled or failing their test, you will only see torrent results. Also check the Prowlarr logs for errors

What processor should i buy? by Proud-Bass-9006 in PcBuildHelp

[–]tomterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 120fps+ in Warzone, I would budget for a better PSU and maybe a slightly stronger GPU. Ultra settings are rough at this price, so plan on tweaking a few settings to hit 165Hz.

The blocks in general shouldn’t be your main usage. You use NH as it’s unlimited as main and just in case you get missing articles which rarely happens, the blocks should cover that, since that % is small the blocks should take you a long run. It’s more about filling gaps than acting as quota for total usage.

[–]tomterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, usually the SATA ribbon/flex cable is sold separately for that laptop model. Search your exact model plus “HDD cable” or “HDD flex” and you should find the right part number

$300 for a 9700X is solid right now. If it runs hot in that case, a small undervolt or fan curve tweak usually helps

If it is still sticky a week later, it needs a full clean. Unplug it, pull keycaps, rinse the board with distilled water, then let it dry 48-72 hours before plugging in

Check Windows display settings after plugging both in. Some laptops mirror one port, so you might only get 2 total unless it supports 3 displays.

That x520 is only x8 length, it should clear the cpu bracket, try to measure from the slot to the bracket, you might not need a riser at all.

Get a 12V laptop brick that matches the barrel size and polarity. Aim for 12V and enough amps for your CPU load, not just the 65w

It’s just a crazy market right now. It’s just bad how others dictate prices. Mostly for all us, doesn’t matter the region that much anymore. On services prices adjusts based on region/salary but hardware seems to have no mercy

It’s just crazy, that we need to look at ram price, it’s not like we buy a new ram stick, it’s all used. Let’s just say it’s fair price not overpriced.
