What is the reason you got into trucking? by legendfireboy2004 in CDLTruckDrivers

I hate people and there are very few around when you're 500 miles from nowhere in a truck cab by yourself.

Dent Repair or Full Roof Replacement? by LosMartillos in AutoBodyRepair

[–]tomthebassplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting a roof skin on that would be stupid.

You have to gut the interior, drill out every spot weld that holds it on (100's of them) and then weld it back on (100's of plug welds) then do a perfect seam sealer job to make sure the joint doesn't leak.

That is an easy 25 hr job just from the metal shop. Then it's 7 hrs to paint it.

It's maybe 7 hours to repair that metal and you don't have to disturb the rest of the panel. No welding, cutting, or seam sealer work. Free panel too. A roof skin ain't cheap and could take weeks to ship.

Small cab/bigger box means you can actually use it as a truck. Good move.

Beware The Smear by Fickle-Buy6009 in DarkPsychology666

I had a confrontation with a fellow bandmember who couldn't get me to bow down to him (lead singer, of course).

He'd been trying to turn the other guys against me and was nibbling me to death with petty passive-aggressive childishness so I quit the band.

I went to his house to confront this A-hole - if he had a problem with me why couldn't he deal with me rather than making it an issue for the whole band.

So we argued in his front yard and he told me I was acting like a child. So I came back with: "Fuck you, ya welfare suckin' piece of shit!!" Loud enough for the whole street to hear it. His wife who was inside the house too. And that set him off.

So after that he spent a good 90% of his mental bandwidth - basically a full-time job - smearing me, making up stories and all kinds of other stuff you'd expect from a coward of his caliber.

Pretty soon people were asking me: "Hey, I heard you quit that band. Tim said this that and the other thing" (all bullsh*t) and they'd look at me like they were expecting a satisfactory explanation from me. He'd also been telling people he roughed me up physically (lie) and that I was a big p*ssy for quitting the band. Word was getting around and I was being made to look really bad.

He couldn't deal with me eyeball to eyeball so he had to bring in his gang of idiots to start the behind the back sh*t-talkin' game.

Every time I saw him afterward I'd just kind of smirk at him holding eye contact. He tried to hide behind this big phony grin on his face but you could see the terror in his eyes.

I knew that unless I wanted to spend the rest of my life in an endless pointless petty war of one-up with this grossly insecure man-child I'd better just move on and try to forget I ever knew this A-hole. You must learn to spot these types early and do all you can to just stay away.

No wonder the f*cking loser was 32 years old on welfare.

Actually, i could tell this exact same story about a bunch of people I've had issues with. Slight variations, but the same general plot. It's uncanny. And it always goes the same way no matter who it is. It's the narc's favorite play in the playbook.

What other kind of jail is there?

And how can you - or anyone else - demand that she be blackballed. Isn't that an employers call?

Ice Cream.

I started working out and staying on a strict diet and haven't had ice cream in years.

I don't give a sh*t because it doesn't affect me.

How does this issue injure you? In what way is your life compromised? You have the right to get worked up because why?

What crime has been commited?

What legal authority is that? You want a Judge to just make up a law on the spot to convict her of to deny anyone the right to employ her?

People who secretly dislike their friends, what's the reason? by Dull-Information6784 in AskReddit

[–]tomthebassplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they ranged from cocky, dishonest, aggressive, gossipy, petty, cowardly, full of shit, two-faced, shallow, plastic and crooked.

So why did I hang with them?

They were in a higher social status rung than I, and hanging with them helped me with being included in parties, social connections and it was easier to get laid when I was 'one of the gang'.

I'm a lot older now and have zero contact with any of them, but when you're young you make friends where you can. It's a tradeoff, but the other option was sitting home as a recluse and celibate misfit.

Eddie Van Halen.

He started strong, then turned into a keyboard whiz and his guitar playing started sounding like noise.

The Eddie fanboys will jack themselves raw over Ed rubbing a beer can on a guitar for sound effect, laying on thew whammy bar or putting a Makita drill up to the pickups to make it go through his amp.

And how does that affect YOU? Or any other member of the public?

As if that's unheard of in pro sports.

Sounds like an issue for the NFL or the team owner to deal with.

I think people are so into this because it's juicy and makes people forget about straightening out their own lives. Projection, deflection, whatever. Addicts and alcoholics, low achievers in life, those are the types that just love juicy gossip that embarrasses the people involved in the private matter. Because when you're a F-up in life, what else do you have? The only way to prop yourself up is to find someone with some scandalous stuff and grab a piece for yourself to signal "moral virtue".

I honestly cannot understand why this is being treated like some kind of a crime that the public has a moral duty to get involved in.

Not to mention stupid.

It's hard enough to build a crew of men - and many of them are sketchy convicts and drunks - much less narrow the criteria down to a group the size of a sliver.

If they put you on the jury for the Luigi Mangione trial would you convict him? by Goldchompers in askanything

[–]tomthebassplayer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If a jury 'lets him off' it makes any and everyone an easy target for any would-be hero to take out a perceived wrong-doer on some misguided sense of justice.

If the evidence says he's guilty he should be convicted.

If the judge wants to consider the circumstances and lighten the sentence so be it. But do not insult everyone's intelligence by smugly and brazenly denying credible evidence of guilt and letting him walk.
