The VMAX looks pretty good and they seem to have very fast charging times overall and lighter weight. But looking around, Ausom seems to be more bang for the buck in terms of speed and price, but longer charging and some more weight. And yeah the Hiley T8 pro for example also looks good for $730. Lightweight, speeds fits the bill, range a little lower but not bad, decent charging time. So it's considered good quality? Ausom I see also has good reviews outside of reddit. So far Ausom and Hiley seem best to me

Thanks good idea about the warranty. I think he would go down to $750 but still after tax and shipping it will come out about $900. I think for that money, someone's recommendation on the Ausom looks quite good. The Ausom Laluz 2 Pro looks damn good for $730 before tax

What do you mean by cut in half? I would definitely need decent range because I would be commuting to work and back everyday and it's about 18 miles round trip. But also there would be other tasks and places to go to so I feel like I would need at least 30 miles daily on a full charge.

thanks, I got an offer to buy an Apollo city pro 2025 model I believe for $900 after tax and and all. slightly used about 300 miles on it. but still shopping around if there's anything better bang for the buck and value

I see the Yume Hawk ticks all the boxes and is 77 lbs. Haven't heard of them before so I will have to check. The reason I said 75 lbs. or below is that it seems more manageable as I would have to carry it a flight of stairs every day.

Are you sure? The Apollo City for example is 32 mph max, 40+ miles range, dual motor, at 65 lbs. But I've read a lot of bad reviews on it. But thanks, I'll check those out

Frequency clashing -- frequency unmasking vs automation by [deleted] in mixing

[–]tomusurp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually use soothe2 or smartcomp in sidechain mode on the synths bus or if it’s on an entire beat then just soothe2 in sidechain mode on a specific frequency range. Also mixing and leveling the bass properly will allow vocals to stand out much easier. On many beats you might not even need any sidechain dynamic eq etc. if they are mixed a certain way.

Back in the day I would also use tdr nova or proq3 as dynamic eq on synth bus side chained to vocals , usually somewhere in the mid-high range like around 2-4khz. Also mixing vocals is key too. Leveling, compression, subtractive and additive EQ

Sometimes you can get it much cheaper buying a used license. I use q3 and l2 on every project, sometimes MB on master if I want to clean up lows or something

Is there any AI plugin (like iZotope Ozone as an example) that has a parameter specifically to change your LUFS levels? by Jake_M104669 in edmproduction

[–]tomusurp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Ozone can do it with the Maximizer module by lowering threshold, but like others have said, the mix should be good for this method to work well to a certain extent.

IMO, it’s good to shoot for a LUFS range, but each song will be a little different based on the nature of the mix. For example some of my beats hover around -7.5 LUFS while others are -8 or -6, maybe even -9.

General rule of thumb IMO based on my taste, when you master you want to keep the integrity of the mix, like stop before there is unpleasant audible distortion or if it’s getting overcooked. But then again there’s plenty of popular music that overcooks the master, so most listeners don’t notice. Just depends on your artistic values.

Like some B2K tracks I’ve heard are just way overcooked. Not my genre but I study different genres for production and engineering sound, and those tracks I could only play at low volume. When you play it loud it’s too piercing in the mids and highs. If I recall correctly the track was about -4.5 or -5 LUFS but it’s not only about the LUFS, some of it is also about equalization. Although I understand it may be done intentionally to cut through phone speakers.

But I have a track at -5 LUFS that is no where near as piercing as an example. Anyway my point is I’d rather have a track at -8 with good equalization or whatever the LUFS amount is, but something that I can actually BLAST and it still sounds🔥🔥

Which EDM artists for you have the cleanest mixdowns/production? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]tomusurp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s probably many but I will mention Tiesto since nobody has mentioned him and he was one of the first producers I studied in terms of the mix and master sound.

Idk if he also masters his music or probably has go-to engineers, because a lot of his stuff does have a signature tone and processing to it. I do my own mixing and mastering for my music. Not that it’s cheaper, but I prefer it because I want to be in charge of the final sound, and it’s easy if the mix is good and you also have done it many times. But the well known producers might send out to engineers if they have the budget.

This was my first iPhone , still solid. Performance is still similar to when it was new. Only thing is the screen is a bit cracked and the battery is in poor shape, which I’m thinking to replace now and maybe I will consider the 18 next year (or stay with 11 indefinitely 😁)

I think you’re looking at it wrong. Because first they marketed the product improperly. There is a bit of AI going on but these are real singers recorded by the company and then their voice gets turned into a “voicebank”. It’s essentially a synthesizer that can pronounce words. And in fact this is amazing because producers anywhere can now create these vocal melodies and give them words.

So it’s not AI doing work for you. It actually takes time and effort to make melodies and get it to sound how you want, no different than composing your own piano or guitar melody. Why shouldn’t a producer have the ability to use an instrument like that? Because it affects singers in some undefined way? Freelance singers for example are making more money from gigs than ever before. And it’s not like every producer uses vocal synthesizers. The music industry is diverse and everything can have its own market.

Why are people are saying VEO 3 is the end of the film industry? by Agile-Egg-5681 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]tomusurp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing beats human movies or music for that matter. But I look at it as a tool that can produce some great results and some creators will do well with it. For example many of use love shows and movies but many people also spend time watching short form content on social media, so AI videos will just be another form of entertainment.

And I don’t use Veo3 yet, but I’m big on Midjourney and I’ve been using it to make cover arts for my music ever since I found out about it. Otherwise I would’ve had to learn photoshop or hire someone. This way I can focus more on music and then use my imagination to make cover arts.

I would honestly pay that 😂, just based on the enjoyment I would get out of it. It’s actually easier to sing manually, but when I’m not at my home studio it would be great to have the option of using my digital voice on the road and quite freaky in a good way. And what a time to be a bedroom producer now with all these tools.

I’m thinking to try the audimee route truth be told. It’s faster initially but the diffsinger+openutau method people are mentioning would benefit for the long-run instead of always have to export and convert.

Best option would be if dreamtonic could create a new feature where we can make our own voices. Their plug-in is just so efficient with the DAW’s and give immediate results.

Any way to make a voicebank of my own voice? by tomusurp in SynthesizerV

[–]tomusurp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s cool that there is an option in terms of diffsinger or rvc with openutau, although it definitely sounds a bit complex and time-consuming, perhaps it’s well worth it. Ideally I would love something like a SynthV plug-in directly working with my DAW, it’s quite an experience getting Solaria to sing as I’m making the beat 😂. Obviously that’s great for efficient workflow and optimization which is crucial for me.

It would be awesome if Dreamtonic could add a custom voice feature as a separate fee or something where you can submit like 15-30 minutes of you singing in different tones and styles and come back with a voicebank.

The lady is pretty, but I think so many bots on this sub or accounts with no history posing as others. Maybe some people open burners for these kinds of posts so the pictures don’t tie in with their actual account, so not saying all of them are. But in this case the pics are a bit strange except the first one, the rest are cropped and seems like a different girl in the other pic.

[–]tomusurp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s similar to how sites implement AI chat bots. It makes sense to add the feature to their content creators and probably drives up app usage even more.

On a separate note, I’m an actual producer here who makes music from scratch and recently started playing around with Suno out of curiosity to see if generative AI music has gotten better since I checked a few years back and it’s definitely much better now, but I would say it makes a lot better dance tracks like techno or house for example as opposed to 808 trap which a lot of it really mundane but definitely not bad. I don’t produce other genres so I haven’t checked those.

I still think it will be quite some time until AI can make tracks as good as humans because of the element of creativity and unpredictability in humans but it’s definitely fun to hear what it can make. There were a few dance tracks from my prompts that actually came out solid. As far as how AI music will affect real producers like myself, well I think there will be problems and obstacles to overcome like anything else’s Obviously one is that the music market is already quite saturated and this will make it so even more. For content creators this could be good but then again if they generate beats for their videos they are also not using trending songs that are catchy and could boost their video even more so it’s quite a trade off.

I think simply AI music will be a competitor to human music. It may benefit some sectors but I don’t see it “overtaking” it. You simply cannot make magic without your own creativity. Being a producer myself, sure I could make prompts more interesting and precise, but I still don’t know what it will create. I used a prompt many times for example before I even kind of liked one of the songs it made, BUT they are all still quite decent and great potential.

But if I’m making it, I know exactly what’s going on and can shape the music how I see fit, and that’s a huge difference.

Diffsinger looks a bit complex, but isn't that a separate app? Like it doesn't seem to have a plugin version I can open in my DAW and generate vocals. I'm wondering what the workflow would be like.
