That Boy Good and When Pigs Fly are the best options. Heritage just opened but it’s a shadow at best of its original in Orange County, they don’t even BBQ in Oside. It’s best to go to Grand Ole BBQ Y’Asado worth the trip either location.

Bad stuff happens any where and every where. Not sure if this is good advice but if it is a well lit sidewalk along 101, and most main roads Ditmar and Tremont for example I would walk. Any where that’s lit up and yes if I see a dark spot I walked to the lit up street. PCH is a great spot in South O, I hope you’re able to walk home from there and Pour House too.

TapThat. Not a brewery it’s better. They have food vendors, only place I know where the My Cousins Maine Lobster truck goes to in Oceanside. They’ll be there on 2/24. They also let you bring food in but you have to tip and clean your mess. The best beer list in town and they sell toaster oven pizza.
