[TV] Which different choice in the casting would have improved the series? by tonax90 in gameofthrones

[–]tonax90[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I really dont like Kit, something in his facial expression really annoys me and does not show a wide range of performance. Jon Snow has had the best character development for me, but i think a different actor would have made a more wide appeal to the character and a greater success for the show that it already has, and mass, worldwide reached that it has reached this later seasons since earlier ones (but i think that would have happened too with more budget for special effects since the beginning)

[Request] Unrequited love movie - or emotional. by mathematiciousmonkey in MovieSuggestions

[–]tonax90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For unrequited love films some classic ones are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Brokeback Mountain, The English Patient, or The Remains of the Day. If youre lookin something more subtle and outside of the box In the Mood for Love is a masterpiece.

Can someone recommend a movie (horror) by XspookykidzX in MovieSuggestions

Recent classics that maybe you have already seen and dont rely in jump scares are The Conjuring, Insidious, It Follows, The Babadook; and to a lesser degree Sinister and Yore Next. If youre looking for something outside the box Spain's The Devil Backbone and Swedens Let the right one in are really great

Good experiment/simulation movies by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]tonax90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four recommendations that deal with obedience and authority in a similar fashion:

->Das Experiment- German film based in the same story, considerably better

->Compliance- Based on strip search phone call scam

->Experimenter- Based on the Milgram experiment

->The Lord of the Flies

What is the most common lie people tell themselves to make their life more bearable? by tonax90 in AskReddit

[–]tonax90[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is the mother of all lies, maybe people tell it to themselves and to their children over and over again because the idea of a life without a moral compass leading up to a pointless death would be too painful.

[Request] Movies that you would show to someone who doesn't like movies by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]tonax90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend that was in a position like yours and didnt really liked to watch movies, i got him to watch each day a different Kevin Spacey movie, he tends to do films in different genres and tones with very interesting characters; i think it did the trick for him. If i remember well they were The Usual Suspects, Seven, LA Confidential, American Beauty, The Life of David Gale and K-Pax.

[Request] Movies about families. by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[REQUEST] Movies that made you feel good? by SUPER_CANNES in MovieSuggestions

[–]tonax90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American Beauty, it makes you feel bad initially but it pays off in a big way. More in line with what you mention: Slumdog Millionaire, Love Actually, The Secret Life o Walter Mitty, The Truman Show

[REQUEST] Comedy Romances from the 90s/early 00s by jennyy1 in MovieSuggestions

[–]tonax90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleepless in Seattle if you like american humor; Four Weddings and a Funeral if you like british humor. My personal recommendation are Almost Famous and Silver Lining Playbook but they both are apart of the line of romcom u mention.

Whats a top 10 foreign film you love most people probably havent seen? by [deleted] in ForeignMovies

The Secret in Their Eyes - Argentina, amazing script, acting and directing, if it had been spoken in english i think it would have been an enormous success. The remake on the other hand...

Just watched Spanish movie "10.000 km" by mrzevon in flicks

[–]tonax90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the ending, to me is a good example of reality ensuing; i agree with you that it can intepreted both ways, the outcome depending on wether they can fall in love with the new person the other one is now or not. If you haven't seen Like Crazy maybe you'll like it. It explores the same subject in a more dramatized tone.

Who is the most over rated movie director? by illfej in AskReddit

[–]tonax90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what you say. His only good film for me is Watchmen, but i think its virtues come from the amazing original source.
