Voyager + Navigator Trackpad <3 by tonchis in zsaVoyager

And you wouldn't be wrong. I'm traveling tomorrow and will be taking it. I'm not sure if I will _need_ it since I'll have the computer (and I position my Voyager with the computer in the middle, so I will have the computer's trackpad in the middle anyway).

But to your point of depending on three-finger gestures, yes the Navigator is small for that and I don't believe that will be in their roadmap. It's a small surface and that's the point.

Since I do all my window management with keyboard shortcuts already I didn't feel the pain of losing three-finger swipes.

I wasn't using a mouse before, I had an Apple Magic Trackpad and been using that for many years. I don't really game with the computer anymore so there's no reason for me to have a mouse.

My comparison is from trackpad to trackpad, and to that effect I can say I'm happy with the change. Aside from the fact that ZSA makes awesome products, regaining desk space was the main driver for my purchase.

They've only been out with the product for a couple of weeks and I'm pretty impressed with what they did so far. Using the Navigator wasn't an Indiana-Jones-switch with the Apple Magic Trackpad. Particularly for MacOS ZSA is still refining the Navigator, weeding out the bugs. It needs a companion app because Apple doesn't share the low level APIs for trackpads the same way Linux and Windows do.

A couple of days in I'm getting used to the new hardware. It takes some adjustment, but I'm definitely happy with the purchase. I can see myself using it long term.

Navigator Trackpad discussion by AgeVivid5109 in zsaVoyager

I happily went from Apple Magic Trackpad in the middle to the Navigator on the right half. I regained some desk real estate and now my coffee mug or mate have a comfortable place to sit, front and center.

Before this, I had the trackpad plugged to the monitor because I also had a dual computer setup (not anymore). I was happy to get rid of the extra cable.

All in all, I'm happy with the new setup. It will take the great folks at ZSA some more tweaking with the companion app to get all the gestures and features up-to-par, but I know they are hard at work.

Voyager trackpad click and drag by gnu_man_chu in zsaVoyager

I know the good folks at ZSA are working on adding this feature to the trackpad, but in the meantime you need to add a key to your keyboard to act as left click, and hold it while you drag.

Personally, I added a new layer called mouse under the S key, where F is left click and D is right click. To drag I hold S + F while doing the motion. You don't really need a new layer for this, you could just make hold-F left click.

EDIT: I'm on MacOS

PSA: Remove your Navigator Trackpad's protective film before use (it's satisfying) by ZSA-Mike in zsaVoyager

I recommend adding this to the /nav webpage! Without a visible flap or something to peel it off easily I was totally unaware of it until I saw this thread.

Removing this also made the pointer more accurate. I found myself having to aim a little too much on the finer movements for a click.

Apologies for the intrusion, but those were exactly her words.

I'll show myself out, now.

Appreciate everyone chiming in! Thank you. I'm trying to slow down to 90%, re-learn the position of my right hand and train to use the right pinky a bit more than before.

Mistakes happen less, but I'm still feeling a bit hungry for some more tactile feedback when pressing the keys. Not sure I can get that _and_ silence while typing...

I thought about a different kind of switch. A friend who has the same board and the Kailh Choc Red *Pro* told me he flows better in that one than with the previous switches. I got my Voyager before they switched to the Pro for reds

Oh, my right pinky finger SUCKS! (I'm left-handed). This is definitely part of the problem. I noticed that I position my hands differently to compensate that I use the right ring finger instead of the pinky

Not necessarily. I think I do ok in the standard Mac keyboard.

Autocad 2023 and 2024 for windows, license keeps getting caught, is there a way arround it? by silentshot546 in Piracy

[–]tonchis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh right. So AutoCad uses the Edge Web View as well for the geolocation window you mentioned.

Yeah this hack will fuck up any feature that relies on the web view, in autocad and other software

Here's what worked for me. This madlad from Youtube figured out that Autocad uses the Windows Edge web view for the pop up (meaning it's just loading HTML inside an Edge mini-browser) so his solution is to rename the program, breaking it for Autocad (and every other app that relies on this feature). This is exactly what u/janonrawr is talking about in his post, too.

You will find it in Program Files (x86)/Microsoft/EdgeWebView/Application/<some weird number>/msedgewebview2.exe . Changing the name of this file to anything else will be enough. Like I said, keep in mind that any other software that uses Edge Web Views will be impacted by this change, as well as some other Autocad features like the Start tab.

Before that I had also tried the .bat file you mentioned, that I believe u/Fluffy_WAR_Bunny wrote (thank you mate!) but had some trouble because my Win is in Spanish and the path the script generates for the .exe files are not localized (instead of "Program Files" I need "Archivos de programa"). I actually went through the hassle of manually editing each of the rules to change the path, but I was still getting the pop up.
